The Gym, Saturday afternoon

This was a mistake.

Jessica planned on hitting the gym (and, while doing that, hitting the punching bag) today. The fact that she woke up with tinsel on her wasn't going to stop that. The fact that the tinsel reappeared every time she tried taking it off of her neck and shoulders didn't stop that. In fact, it just meant that she had tinsel to decorate the punching bag with, and who DOESN'T like a festive punching bag?

NOBODY. That's who.

It wasn't until she was well into the punching that she realized that punching with stuff draped all over you like that was uncomfortable at best, stupid at worst. By that point, she was just happy she didn't come from a world where superheroes wore capes.

Sia had come down to the gym as part of her training, and yes, she was wearing tinsel. She was acting like it didn't bother her at all, though, because then people were less likely to comment on it.

"All of it, plus drills, and minus festiveness, depending on the day," she said. "I try to be well-rounded. Today it will be the treadmill because I'd rather not deal with that bag."

"You've got to get cultured up. Right after this, we're going to an art museum ASAP," Jessica said. "It's so important that we won't have time to change or shower. You're going to be smelly, you're going to see art, and you're going to appreciate it."
