Between one thing and another, Kate had never actually watched a live episode of the TV show Bow Arrow.  But she had downloaded all the previous episodes and watched them on her laptop.  Just for professional curiosity, you know.  Someone was making a TV show about a superhero with a bow!  It was almost required she watch.

...and he was really, really hot in the training montages that showed up in almost every episode.  Yeah, she totally watched this for the plot.

Kate grinned at him. "Shut up."

"I'm not saying it's bad," Billy said, head tilted at the TV. "He's awfully hot."

"I did not know that people who aren't-" her gesture managed to encompass Bucky Barnes and Clint Barton (It was a well-trained gesture) "- actually looked like that," she said. "But I'm totally okay with it. And the training montages."

"Is this like educational training for you? Or is it, you know, not terribly accurate?" Billy asked.

"It's pretty bad," Kate admitted. "He keeps making shots that are supposed to be amazing but are pretty basic. If only the producers would just realise that archery is totally cool enough on its own without trying to sex it up."

Possibly she was biased.

"I would have thought you'd want it to be sexed up, to seem cooler," Billy said. "Not that recent movies haven't been doing that though."

"What can I say?" she joked. "Everyone wants to be Hawkeye."

"Maybe your version. I don't know if I'd want to be the grownup one," Billy said.

Which was good since Billy was basically Avengers royalty. Someone had to be that instead of the sixth-favorite Avenger.

"Maybe, but I wouldn't want to be the grown up any of them," she pointed out.

"That's a good point," Billy agreed. "We definitely need to grow up to be our own people. And we will, I believe it."

She snorted, unable not to think of 'her' Billy.. "Well. You're too stubborn to be anything else." Which kinda went for all of them, yes.

"Hey, I'm not that stubborn," Billy protested. "In general. Most of the time."

Kate raised an eyebrow. "Riiiiiiiight. You're just as not stubborn as Eli."

"No one is as stubborn as Eli. That's why we let him be in charge," Billy said. "I just... know where my opinions stand, that's all."

Fair point. See also 'so stubborn she hadn't heard from him for over a month.' Kate should not have brought Eli up.

"Keep telling yourself that," she said, reaching to pat him consolingly on the arm. "Don't worry. No one will notice."
