Fifth floor common room [Saturday morning]
Rilla had woken up bright and early this morning, just as always, and put on a clean dress, just as always, and then had taken Jims down to the common room to make pancakes.
She was mixing ingredients, he was turning himself into a flour ghost while he took handfuls of the stuff and tossed it into his hair.
Same as any other weekend, right?
Come show Rilla that's not true.

Of course, that only worked if there wasn't already someone in the common room, so it ended up looking more like some dude running in and then taking an awkward skip at the exact moment that he realized he wasn't alone. Of course, it looked like that because that's exactly what it was, but with pronouns stealthily changed.
"Um. Hi. How's it going?"

She didn't expect to see a little kid.
"Did someone get...deaged?"

As you do.

"So he lives here?"

She turned towards the kid and smiled sweetly. "And nice to meet you."

"His name is Jims," Rilla said with a smile.

"I don't really know you, Rilla, but I think I already admire you a bit," said as she turned towards Rilla again. Emily wouldn't know what to do with a toddler. At all.

Hardly anyone would do the same thing.

Emily might be bitter and bent on revenge, but she could still admire good people. Still being the key word.
