3rd Floor Common Room - Friday Evening

It was Friday night, and Kate was hanging out in the Common Room. Even worse, she was spending her time reading blog posts about Fashion Week when she'd been there with her sister every year since she was 10. Last year she and Cassie had gone & cracked themselves up trying to choose which designs would be the best superhero costumes. This year's collections though - Kate wasn't sure she was actually missing much fashion-wise. She still felt a little like a loser for not being there.

She flipped over to her sister's Instagram feed and rolled her eyes. Really, Susan? That was what you were wearing?

Kate finally pushed away her laptop and turned the tv on. To the sounds of whatever was on, she wandered over to the kitchen to make popcorn. Ooh, or there was cookie dough. Hmm, to risk turning the oven on or just to eat it raw?

Stiles needed a break from buying horrifically cheesy Valentine's gifts and wandered down to the common room to grab chips and a soda.

"Hey Alli-Kate! Kate," Stiles greeted. "You are Kate. Sorry."

"I'm Kate," she agreed, frowning at him a little. "Allison better be awesome if you're going to keep thinking I'm her."

"Allison can kick my ass," he said. "And not just because I'm sort of weak; she's trained to kick ass. So that's pretty awesome."

"What in the fridge has a ton of calories?" Gert wanted to know as she came in. "I just came from cheerleading. I feel morally compelled to eat right now."

"It's pretty awesome," Kate said since it was. She couldn't help wondering, "She doesn't have superpowers or anything, does she?"

Because that would just be unfair.

"Oh, no, she's human." Stiles hoped she stayed that way 'cause soon it would just be him without cool superpowers. "She's an archer."

She held out the cookie dough, focusing on the more important part.

"Cheerleading?"

Kate could not begin to picture this.

Gert sighed, theatrically holding up a hand. "I know. I'm the scum of the earth. So far it seems like my primary role is coming up with quippy rhymes."

Now it was less unfair & more kind of hilarious. "Yeah? Me too."

"Seriously?" That would be like if Victor had been a werewolf instead of a cyborg. "You're not screwing with me, are you?"

"Less being the scum of the earth and more being WAY more Middle America than I'd expect," Kate informed her, oh so amused. "Are they at least good, snarky rhymes?"

"I rhymed 'desperation' with 'consummation' today," Gert offered. "For cheering on Valentine's Day daters. So..."

"Oh god, tell me there's coffee in here," Tony said, making a beeline for the coffeepot. No, he didn't realize it was evening yet.

Coding killed all sense of time and space. And possibly ended with crossover events.

Also, hi new person he had yet to meet. How are you? He'd be more polite once he got his fix.

"It'd be tempting if it weren't true," Kate admitted. "But... "

"I'd make a new pot if I were you," Kate warned. Because ew, cold coffee.

"Something like that," Gert said, squinting. "That's pretty good. If we have to revise it, I might submit your version."

"That's insane!" Stiles said. "And awesome. Archery looks so cool. I'd try it but nobody in their right mind would let me have a bow."

The one time he got his hands on one he almost shot Scott.

"Feel free. You did the hard part of setting up the rhyme." Well, 'rhyme' but it counted. "So are there uniforms for this whole 'Valentine's cheering extravaganza?"

"There are indeed," Gert confirmed, selecting a bag of mini-muffins from the fridge and deeming them unhealthy enough to bring back to the couch with her. "Pants and skirts. I assume the skirt versions are for Loki."

He gave the pot a look like it had kicked a puppy before grabbing a cup anyone to pour what was left. "It'll hold me over until the new pot is done," he reasoned. Yes. That was perfectly reasonable. "...hi."

"Yeah, usually I'd say you should try it first, but I've seen you with balls so no," Kate decided.

"Hopefully one of the pleated ones. And a matching hair ribbon," Kate decided. "And a bow for Old Lace?"

No, she didn't think so, but it'd still be funny.

"That's disgusting." Because Tony cared what Kate thought. Though at least he wasn't drinking it out of the pot. "Also hi. Long day?"

"Very wise," he said with a nod. "It takes most people longer to realize that I shouldn't be handed any weaponry."
