Second Floor Common Room, Monday Afternoon
Natalie had a hangover. It was not the very first time, but it was still a pretty novel feeling. Which is why she'd revelled in it all morning. That, or she'd been waiting for the painkillers to kick in while batting Mox away when he decided to check if she was dead or something, since she hadn't gotten up at the usual time. And also, he'd wanted to get fed.
By the afternoon, though, Natalie's nausea and headache had both mostly gone away. (Unlike the phone number written in black marker on the back of her hand. She hadn't managed to scrub it off entirely yet. Yes, she remembered whose it was, and no, she wasn't intending to call it.) She made it to the common room and got the coffee going while looking in the cupboards for anything appetizing.
Other were welcome to the coffee, too, but it would probably still be best if they didn't talk too loud.
[ooc: Open common room!]

Except for the smudged phone number on the back of her pale hand, of course. "But thank you for the concern, or something."

She barely shrugged a shoulder. "Compliments just aren't important to me."

Emily had no idea of how to reply to that, other than honestly, of course. It felt like the proper time to stop talking about that. "So where was the party?"

Although she specifically had been at a random pub she could no longer name.

"I've noticed the people in the island tend to travel to other worlds more often than into the mainland," Emily said thoughtfully.

She came from a world that different in some subtle and other non-subtle ways, meaning she was rarely a hundred percent comfortable in Fandom. But she wasn't going to elaborate on that.

It was possible the remains of the hangover were making her even less eager to share things. "Do you?"
no subject
"No, we don't have any of that," answered easily as she started to look for something more substantial than an apple. "Hence why things are going to be boring in the future," said even when she knew that was a lie.

It wasn't without surprise that Emily realized she was being at least partially honest. "But you're right about that."

It wasn't a term most other people on the island would have used, no. Natalie had plucked it from past the fourth wall.

"Nothing you need to worry about."
Well, the event itself probably would be. But not the term.
