Second Floor Common Room, Wesnesday Afternoon

The bad thing about being a person who liked her solitude and didn't go out of her way to talk to people was that there could be an island whim going on where you had no choice but to tell the truth, and yet you managed to stay unaware of this way into the afternoon.

That was the situation Natalie was in right now. Which would probably explain why and how she was actually in an okay mood for once. Like maybe things were finally starting to look up for her. She had a batch of muffins in the oven and everything. It felt like a normal day and while she wasn't exactly whistling as she worked or anything else Disney like that, she was still feeling... fine.

Which in itself was weird, and probably wouldn't last with island interference. But it was there.

[ooc: It's Truth Day and this is a common room, how could it not be open?]

"I karking hate mornings," Cade announced as he flopped onto a couch, not realizing it was afternoon because he was observant that way.

"I don't like afternoons either," Cade said. "Is there food? I don't feel like getting up to look for myself."

"Oh, I'm not half as lazy as I pretend to be," Cade said. "You don't get muscles like these just lying around, you know?"

He frowned. Why had he said that?

"Really? Sounds nice, getting something for nothing like that," Cade commented.

"I normally don't care how upset people are but you're pretty hot," Cade said. "How does it work?"

"I've never played a video game," Cade said. "We don't really have them at home, and even if we did, it wasn't like Rav was ever going to give me something nice."

Cade frowned. He never brought Rav up in conversation.

"What level are you, then?"

"I'm getting that impression," Cade said. "To both things."

He waved his hand around. "Handwavy?" he guessed.

"Yeah, you're right, I don't get it," Cade admitted. "But it's totally normal at home for you?"

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2013-03-28 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I haven't known normal since I walked past my father's dead body and pretended not to recognize him," Cade said.

His eyes bugged out. "I didn't mean to say that. Karking ever."

"Please," Cade said, trying to smother himself with the sofa pillow. "Can I have a muffin so I can't talk?"

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2013-03-29 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably," Cade agreed, still talking through the cushion. "My life pretty much sucks."

[identity profile] makemyownway.livejournal.com 2013-03-29 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Who broke your heart?" Cade asked, mostly because he was desperate to turn the conversation away from himself.

Cade got glared at all the time, so it didn't affect him.

"You broke your own heart?" Cade replied.
