Second floor common room- Thursday evening

Maddie had called for one pizza. One. Instead, they delivered three, said something about not being used to delivering just one here, and so now Maddie had three pizzas.

Or rather, the common room had three pizzas, because she wasn't going to be able to eat all that. So they were set out for people to take advantage of, while Maddie looked for something to watch. So far it looked like the best choice was America's Next Top Model reruns, mostly because she kept getting distracted trying to remember if that show was even still on.

Jessica walked into the common room feeling kind of free since she wasn't randomly spitting out backstory or webbing her mouth shut to keep her from doing the same or anything.

"Hey, Maddie. Is the pizza for everyone, or are you just really hungry?"

"I'm really hungry, but not that really hungry," Maddie replied. "Take all you want."

"Thank you, you're so kind," Jessica said, walking over to grab a slice. "What's the occasion? Top Model party?"

"I needed, and nothing weird's happened today that I know of. I figured that called for pizza," she explained. "Though really, every day calls for pizza."

"I can't argue with that," Jessica said. "I really don't know how I managed to get through yesterday without being completely mortified. Tonight's definitely celebratory because of that."

It was good to be able to lie again, because she totally did know how she got through yesterday.

"Once I heard radio, with that guy talking about it being bad to talk, I just kept to my room," Maddie admitted. "I probably would have started going on about superpowers or something to anyone who'd listen."

"Why superpowers?" Jessica asked.

"Uhh." This was why you can't have nice things, Maddie. Well, it wasn't like she didn't know this sort of thing wouldn't become a topic of conversation anyway. "I sort of have them?"

"Oh, really? I didn't realize that," Jessica said., trying to sound encouraging since it didn't seem like Maddie really meant to share that. "Can you do anything cool?"

She shrugged. "I can change form to different gases," she said. "Which doesn't sound cool, but it really kind of is."

"If I ever throw a rave, I'm going to give you a call to help with the smoke machine, okay?" Jessica joked.

"And here that option had never even occurred to me," Maddie said with a smile. "Also, I'd expect payment."

That part was totally serious.

"And that's only fair," Jessica said. "I can't pay much, but I'll see what I can do."

"Good. My people will be in touch with your people," Maddie said. "Let's pretend I have people."

"Same," Jessica said. Although she totally had people. "Actually, I do technically have people. All cheerleaders are technically my people."

"Even Loki?" she checked.

"... No. He's the exception," Jessica decided.

"And Old Lace?" Now she was just being a brat.
