Fourth Floor Common Room, Friday Evening

Jack Frost had some very important business to attend to this weekend. It was, after all, two days before Easter. And, even though he was pretty certain he'd be strung up by an irate seven-foot rabbit if he so much as thought about causing a blizzard somewhere on Easter Sunday, he just couldn't pass up the opportunity to cause some measure of mischief for Bunnymund this year.

And that was why Jack was in the fourth floor common room this evening, perched up on the arm of the couch where it was less likely any nonbelievers would try to take a seat in him, casually flipping through an atlas and humming thoughtfully to himself. Canada or Russia would be the easy options, of course. But if he really wanted to annoy the rabbit, he'd have to pick someplace that was good and unlikely.

"Maybe a little bit of Easter snow in..." He opened the book and pointed at a page at random. "Miami?"

Oh, it was tempting.

Toby had come in to the common room in search of something to make for dinner... If by "make" one meant "heat up in the microwave". He was halfway to the kitchenette when he noticed the open atlas balanced on the arm of the couch.

He paused, tilting his head slightly as if listening for something.

"... Jack? That you?" he said, a little hesitantly. Being able to hear thoughts and sharing a class with the guy meant that he was sort of vaguely aware of the other boy's existence, but he'd still not managed to catch a glimpse of him.

He couldn't hear him, exactly, but he got the general gist of it. Especially with the added indoor weather.

"Gonna take that as a yes," Toby decided. "So, uh. Whatcha up to?"

Toby frowned thoughtfully. Something about Easter, and snowstorms, and... believing that Jack was real?

Well, of course Jack was real, even if Toby'd never actually seen the guy, but he'd been in class, and participated, and-

as those thoughts ran through Toby's head, it was sort of like a switch being flipped on.

"Gah!" Toby exclaimed, stumbling backwards in surprise as Jack just appeared suddenly on the couch.

"Stubborn?" Toby echoed. "Sorry. I was just- kind of used to the idea of you being sort of... invisible or whatever, that I wasn't expecting to, you know. See you. Because invisible."

A beat.

"Toby Logan," he added, with a little wave.

"Huh," Toby said, mulling that one over. "I guess that makes a certain amount of sense, if you're an embodiment of a season and all," he said with a nod. "So- not a fan of the Easter Bunny, huh?"
