Fandom High Lacrosse Club, The Gym, Tuesday After Classes

Unsurprisingly, Jackson hadn't had the focus to put together any specific kind of training today, so he'd decided to email his club members that they were hitting the dorm gym. It seemed like the most productive way to work out some of that annoying tension.

Of course, once he got there, he found out they only had one locker room available. The other one had some kind of a... gremlin infestation. Fosse hadn't been very forthcoming with the details, and by the look on his face, Jackson had decided he really didn't even want to know. The club could just deal. And hey, Jackson had already gotten distracted by how good his own reflection looked twice today. A gender neutral locker room was just par for the course, at this point.

He wasn't going to be apologetic about it. If someone was offended, they could just turn around and leave. ~~And possibly get their ass leered at.~~

He also wasn't going to be too wordy with the isntructions. "It's a gym," he said. "You know what to do."

Jackson was actually not even remotely awkward.

It probably helped that this was the first time in weeks his mind was one things that weren't the kanima and how out of control his life was, so he was actually embracing this.

Thankfully Stiles was the master at changing behind a locker door so he wasn't too worried about any issues. He just would stare at the lockers and not avert his gaze.

He wished gym shorts hid more though 'cause if anything unexpected, um, popped up there would be nooooooo hiding it.

Korra had gotten used to sharing locker space at the pro-bending arena. Of course, that had mostly involved putting protective gear on, nobody had actually been quite this...this.

"Troubled?"

Jackson. Put a shirt on.

No, Jackson, don't. Korra liked the view.

...wait. Face colouring as she realised her line of thought, she managed a remarkably even "Fine."

Hey, that was a perfectly good line of thought! Although Jackson may not have been the best judge of these things even when there wasn't pollen in the air, let's be real here.

He smirked, and said, "If you say so."

"I do. Say so." Korra really needed to stop staring, maybe if she had something blocking her vision...like her shirt!

Yes, clearly pulling her top off over her head would work splendidly.

Well, if the goal was to make Jackson leer at her, then yeah, it worked.

Okay, he did also shut up for the moment.

Because leering.

Of course, Korra could only spend so long taking off the top before it started to look ridiculous, so she managed to catch the leering.

"What are you looking at?" Probably your rack, Korra.

Probably, yeah, but at least his gaze flicked back up to her face once she spoke.

"Oh, nothing."

That wasn't even remotely sincere, and it wasn't supposed to be.

Oh, come on, her bra might have squished them a little but they were hardly 'nothing'.

"Well I guess you know nothing." Korra said with a pointed look downwards. Partly to try and get a response, but also because the lines of his hips were rather...yes.

He was one lean but muscular jerk jock, this was true. And raising an amused eyebrow while glancing down at himself.

"Seriously, is that your attempt at insulting me?"

He looked great! He hadn't been distracted by mirrors all day for nothing!

So, Korra wasn't very good with insults. She was good with other things. Like looking. No, wait, that wasn't what she meant.

"Just saying if you're looking at nothing I'm looking at nothing." Of course her only non-Jackson experience at looking...there was that one time was that time she was a guy.

"Mmhmm." Yeah, Jackson's smugness didn't really fade that easily. Quite the contrary. "That's not really how it works. But maybe you feel threatened."

Korra didn't respond well to this kind of challenge when she wasn't half-addled with pollen. So it would have seemed like a brilliant idea to stalk over into his personal space, regardless. "Why would I feel threatened by you?"

And without the pollen, Jackson probably would have taken a step back simply because since the latest bout of kanima violence he hadn't been too comfortable letting people physically close to him.

Now he just smirked. "Isn't it obvious?" he drawled. "I'm more experienced."

At... lacrosse. Sure, he meant at lacrosse.

Korra cocked her head to the side, finger pointed at Jackson's chest. "And I'm a quick learner."

...sports, they were totally talking about sports.

Totally.

"Mm, is that so?"

"Just need to see how it's done and I can beat anyone."

Sports.

Jackson cocked his head to the side, now.

"Think you should put your money where your mouth is."

He'd almost said the reverse. Sports! Well, at least the saying was... related to betting, which was... kinda related to sports?

"Show me some moves first and I will."

She totally meant, uh, stickwork, yes. That.

"Well, that would hardly be appropriate here."

Because you should save the stickwork for outside the locker room?

That entirely depended on the type of stickwork. And Korra had no idea where that quip came from.

"Why? Afraid I might show you up?"

"Never." Please, he wasn't afraid of anything. Except maybe killing people. "But people might get jealous."

"I'm sure there'll be enough of you left to go around after I'm done with you."

Korra would be setting herself on fire after this wore off.

Jackson snorted. "That's not very ambitious of you, is it? Not intending to finish what you start?"

"You're the one who was worried about the others," Korra retorted. "If you'd prefer me to leave you worn out, I can do that."

"You do realize I haven't been talking about sports for at least the past two minutes, right?"

He had no problem with just going there.

If Korra hadn't been pollened, or standing quite so close to him, that would have been when she found found an urgent need to be somewhere else. As it was...

"Well, neither have I." Not that she was entirely sure what she was talking about, just that it was very important she did so.

Jackson could always be counted on to come up with unhelpful questions, though.

"So what are you talking about, hm?"

"The same thing you are." Ha! No way that could go wrong.

Except if he just gave her an unimpressed look.

Come on, he'd been the one boasting about his level of experience, like he was just going to hand that one to her.

"Are you saying we're not talking about the same thing?"

That was not the way to salvage the conversation. Especially since now she wasn't so much pointing at him as actually poking at his chest.

Jackson noticed. It was kind of distracting.

"I'm saying you're proving your inexperience by not having a clue what you're talking about."

Very distracting, since Korra hadn't really noticed how warm and solid Jackson was until she started doing it.

"This isn't about my experience." Which basically consisted of one incredibly awkward kiss. "You're just such an Artic hen, you're afraid I'll show you up regardless."

Jackson narrowed his eyes at her. He couldn't even tell whether it was the pollen-addled parts or his natural competitive streak reacting, at this point.

"Well maybe you should drop by my room one of these days and put that to the test."

Both, probably, if he was anything like Korra.

"Maybe I will then."

"Fine."

And then he sauntered off to finally maybe put on a shirt.

"Sucks to be you lot," said the girl who wore a t-shirt and bicycle shorts everywhere anyway.

Of course, that was before she realized she'd have to go in herself if only to shove her jacket and rucksack into a locker. Right, then. Calm, cool, see that kind of thing every day, no big de--

Ace, the empty lockers were over there. To the left. No, your other left. Past the nudity.

Mercy, well, she didn't have a problem with nudity, but she did try not to get all naked around people who might take it the wrong way.

But this week, she'd been all... itchy, you know?

So, she was just not thinking about it and stripping off to change.

Making out with each other is not a gym thing.

He's taking swings at a punching bag, but he's available.

In a few ways.

Looking at him might be unadvisable, though.

Because he's super hot.
