Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday Afternoon

Fact the first: Gert had gone out this afternoon in search of one (1) sandwich.

Fact the second: Someone (a bartender? Gert hadn't caught his (her?) name, but he (she?) had hair tucked into a baseball cap and seemed very drunk) had been racing around a town with two garbage bags that held a combined two hundred bagels.

Fact the third: Evidently running away from a pursuer, who Gert assumed was the owner of the bagel store, Baseball Cap had thrust one of the bags at Gert and yelled at her to take it and run.

And so it was that a baffled Gert hauled a massive bag of about a hundred bagels up the stairs through town and up to the second floor common room, at which point she proceeded to dump the bag on the counter and collapse on the couch with a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese.

What. The hell.

Gert didn't think she had ever met her, but in a school this small, it was hard not to recognize people by name, especially when said names were as weird as 'Liara' was.

"The blue girl, right?" she checked. Seriously, this was an awesome conversation to be having. Not that there was anything groundbreaking or stunning about hearing the confirmation of Karolina's sexuality -- that wasn't a surprise. But Gert just liked being kept in the loop about things going on in her friends' lives, especially when the things in question were cute. "She's pretty."

Left intentionally open for Karolina to fill in any other positive adjectives she might want to add...

Karolina had come along a bit in the past year, considering she hadn't even hesitated in revealing who she'd been out with. Hadn't even thought about it. It was about as much her own confidence as it was trusting Gert.

"She is," she said, with a soft chuckle, carding her fingers through her hair. "And... smart. And pretty." That had already been established. "I like her."

"Well, yeah, if you went on a date with her," Gert teased. "That's awesome."

Seriously, best news of the week. Go Karolina.

"Don't tell Chase you're dating a cute alien girl," she added after a beat. "He'll ask for pictures."

Karolina laughed even as she blushed a little bit.

"I'm not going to," she said, shaking her head. "I mean, it's probably too soon to be making it any sort of news, anyway, right?"

Gert pretended to think about it. "Well, since you're not Nico," she began mock-heavily, "meaning that there isn't a perfectly legitimate chance that your new squeeze is actually evil and wants to kill everyone around you, I'd say you can hold off, yeah."

Sorry, Nico. Gert teased because she loved.

Karolina shook her head. "Yeah. I think they'd be too into teasing, anyway. It can wait. I'll just... take my time. Getting to know her and stuff."

Spoken like someone who had no clue about things about to happen to her soon.

"And saving her from getting fetishized by our team's token meathead," Gert chimed in, but affectionately. All her favorite people were getting teased today! "Good plan. If you ever want me to meet her and do the teammate-approval thing, let me know."
