Main Campfire, Tuesday evening

With everything going the way it was, Jessica felt okay with the thought of heading over to the main campfire and getting away from her see-through bouncy castle for a little bit. Okay, granted, she was just as visible here as she would have been in there, but at least here she wasn't technically indoors.

Well, in-flaps.

With that in mind, she had marshmallows for burning just because it was kind of therapeutic to watch. Maybe there were some marshmallows for eating, too, if she got hungry enough. But for now, she was mostly just letting them melt off the stick and into the fire.

(And then she wondered who was responsible for cleaning the campfires when they weren't lit. Probably Fosse. He could theoretically do it while they were lit, too, though. And yes, she was going to keep thinking about things like this while those marshmallows burned. It was fun.)

"I propose a coup of one of the other castles," Sia announced, finding a seat.

"You mean one where we can sleep without the teal deer staring at us?" Jessica asked. "Because if so, then I approve of this idea, let's do it right now."

"Pick one that isn't terrible."

Therein was the problem.

"Given the choice, I'll take the monkey house," Jessica decided. "It's a very friendly-looking monkey."

"I'm not sleeping near a monkey," said Sia, who was princess enough to be picky about her non-see-through bouncy castle.

"You're much pickier than me when it comes to bouncy castles," Jessica noted.

"I don't want to look at friendly monkeys when I come back to the castle before going to sleep," Sia said. "You slept in a clown's pants last time, anything is good in comparison."

"Wrong clown. I was in the circus castle with clowns on it," Jessica said. "I wasn't one of the poor, traumatized people in the pants."

"Apparently in my mind you were," Sia said easily.

"It's touching that you think of me that way," Jessica joked.

Sia smiled. "If someone was to end up traumatized in a clown's pants, I would expect it to be you, yes."

Wow that sounded bad.

"In fairness, I'd probably be the clown, they'd be my pants, and I'd still be getting traumatized," Jessica decided.

Sia paused. "This all sounds very different than I would have thought when I came here."

"As it should, Sia. Experience changes perception," Jessica said wisely. "And clown pants are always a sign of trouble."

"In fact, it's probably only a matter of time before they invade." Happy thoughts.

"If that happens, I'm leaving and never coming back. That's just too much," Jessica declared.

"It would probably only be for a weekend..."

Sometimes even Sia had to tease.

"Everyone has their limit," Jessica said. "A murder of clowns is mine."

Yes, that was what a group of clowns was called. DON'T ARGUE.

Questioning, not arguing.

"A group of crows is called a murder," Jessica said. "I figure it's just reasonable to give that name to a group of clowns, too."

"Because they're so much like crows?" Sia asked.

"Only in that I suspect both groups discuss murder when they think nobody's listening," Jessica explained.

"Yes, you're probably right there." She was totally lying.
