Alien Abduction Campfire, Wednesday Afternoon

This afternoon, Jackson was roasting marshmallows outside his bouncy castle.

What, he was bored, the castles annoyed him, Stiles rolling all over him annoyed him, and a lot of other small stuff annoyed him. He deserved something good. Obviously, he always deserved good things. But under the circumstances, he felt he deserved them even more. And he knew no one else was going to come by providing them for him, as much as he would've liked them to.

Also, he was bored, yet didn't feel like walking into town and getting his car to get the hell out of town. So, marshmallows.

Now, if he could only have stopped burning them. It was getting on his nerves.

"Hello, Jackson!" Oh, didn't you miss him?

Nope, not one bit. "Loki." But see, that was a borderline civil greeting, wsn't it? "Move along."

Okay, maybe not.

"Whyever would I do that?" Loki asked, taking a seat by the fire.

"Because I asked nicely?"

That was all sarcasm. Jackson wasn't that deluded.

"That was not nicely," Loki informed him sadly. "I think you could do better."

"Well, I'm not going to," Jackson informed him. "So you should just be grateful with what you get."

His marshmallow was burning again. He hadn't noticed yet.

"You are burning your food." THANKS, LOKI. THANKS.

Jackson swore under his breath and yanked the stick away from the flames.

And then he glared at Loki. Because clearly he was all to blame.

Loki smiled at him. Because he was your very best friend ever, Jackson. Couldn't you tell?

No.

"Life was much more enjoyable while you didn't show up."

Considering all the stuff that had happened... That wasn't entirely accurate.

"Now that is a lie," Loki replied. "And I know lies."

"It's not a lie."

It was a massive lie.

"Do you have more marshmallows?" Loki asked, ignoring his protests.

[nomoresportscars]

Jackson didn't reply. Instead, he picked up his bag of marshmallows to stick a new one on his stick before putting the bag back down beside him again.

What Loki did with that knowledge, he did not care.

"Thank you," he chirped, taking one to roast his own marshmallow. "How are you enjoying your summer?"

"It's fine."

See, now that was an attempt at polite conversation. Or at least it was more flat than obviously hostile. Progress, all the same.

"You are enjoying the bouncy castles?" Loki doubted that. Because no one liked the bouncy castles. No one.

Jackson sighed – well, no. It was more a huff. Sighing was too relaxed an action. "They put Stilinski in the same one with me. Again. You figure it out."

"Ah. I have been placed with Ares-son. I have avoided being stabbed in my sleep with clever thinking so far."

SO FAR.

Snort.

"So far."

[abitlowkey]

"He is tenacious!"

[nomoresportscars]

"Well, tell him good luck from me."

Mean, Jackson.

Terribly mean!

"Perhaps you would like to switch roommates." Since Loki lacked the ability to grow fur to attract Stiles.

Jackson just grumbled something indecipherable. Best not ask what it was.
