Second Floor Common Room, Wednesday Morning
There were still quite a few hours before the Jewish New Year really started, and besides that, Gert's interest in religion was super minimal, but somehow all the same, she found herself spending her morning on the couch in the common room, typing up a list of New Year's resolutions.
Gert wasn't a big believer in acting a certain way just because of a holiday, but the start of a new school year had always seemed like an ideal time to make new promises to herself and at least set a few goals. The holiday was just an excuse to do it. On the table beside Gert sat a plate of apple slices around a glob of honey in the center -- that wasn't a holiday thing so much as apples and honey just being delicious.
The first few resolutions were easy. Help some people. Check in with Nico, Kar and Molly more. After a long moment, she typed Look into colleges, though she deleted it and rewrote it about four times before she ultimately decided to leave it in.
Her first attempt at number four was Learn how to fight, but that one she did delete.
This was turning into a project.
[[open post and door! might be slow.]]

He poked his head in and waved. "Hi! I'm Cecil." Oo, food. Food sounded good. He'd been briefed on the non-rules of ownership in the common rooms, so he came all the way in and headed for the refrigerator.
[slow here, too.]

Newbie learned fast. About the food rules, anyway.

"Buddy, anyone ever tell you your standards are kind of low?"

"Oh. Some kind of famine or something?"

That was sarcasm.
"Well, as far as I know, that doesn't happen to the bread here."

[OOC: Crap! I knew that'd happen sooner or later. From the right account this time!]

"Okay." Cecil nodded.
Then he frowned, confused. "Why am I creepy because you don't want bread?"

She paused, dipped an apple slice in the glob of honey, and then held up her plate in Bay's direction. "Apple?"
