With Yancy visiting, Raleigh found himself thinking maybe he should be treating his big brother to breakfast. And, since he wasn't exactly culinary talented, this amounted to digging out boxes of cereal and pop-tarts.

Hey, if it worked, it worked.

He rubbed at his eyes, clearing away sleep as he waited for his own pop-tart to pop. Yancy could get his own when he woke up. Raleigh was an amazing little brother, see?

"Morning," Theo said when he wandered into the common room. Dr. Brockton was safely tucked away in his hotel and Theo had managed to not have to spill his guts just yet. "My kind of breakfast."

He'd lived of Hot Pockets so of course he liked Pop Tarts.

"Mornin'," Raleigh replied with a yawn. "It's fancy by my standards."

Of skipping breakfast because he overslept.

"It's only fancy if you picked the right flavor," Theo decided, sitting himself down on one of the sofas. "What kind do you have anyway? Strawberry? Cherry? Chocolate chip?"

He knew them all.

"Strawberry," Raleigh replied. "With frosting."

Be in awe, Theo.

"Then, it's definitely fancy," Theo said approvingly. "All you need is a candle and flower in a vase and it'd be like a gourmet restaurant in here."

He was definitely in awe.

"Pretty sure a candle would get us in trouble." Raleigh clearly didn't realize how crazy the school's administration was.

Yeah, Theo had to give Raleigh a look for that.

"Have you seen anyone get in trouble at this school?" Because he hadn't.

"No one has set the dorm on fire yet," Raleigh pointed out. With all his faith in their ability to keep a candle upright.

"What are you planning on doing with this candle that it might set the dorm on fire?" Theo asked, amused. "Douse it with gasoline?"

"Why would I have that in the dorms?" His roommate on the other hand...

"I'm pretty sure people have stranger things in their rooms than gasoline."

Theo shrugged. Ange started listing off the variety of things she'd seen in various rooms in her experience. Dev just wanted to eat.

"Maybe you're a mechanic or something."

"I'm not." Lucky for him, the pop-tart popped for eating now. "But maybe someone else is and they spilled gasoline all over the place."

'Spilled'. Yeah.

"And then a pyromaniac comes by and tosses a match on it?" Theo finished, raising an eyebrow and really hoping Raleigh didn't think that'd happen.

"Maybe?" No. Not at all.

"Well okay, it could happen because nothing's impossible but I seriously doubt it would," Theo decided after some thought. "But I think we'd be safe here if there was a candle. There's gotta be sprinklers installed..."

"We live in a dorm with green monsters that get freaky in the vents," Raleigh pointed out. "I'm afraid what might come out of some of those sprinklers."

Yancy staggered into the common room about half an hour late, rubbing at his eyes and blinking against the light. "Ugh," he muttered, running a hand through his hair.

He unceremoniously dropped his ass down on the couch next to Raleigh.

"Ugh," he repeated.

"...even they were affected?" Theo asked, making a face and trying to banish that image from his head. "Gross."

Raleigh did the mature thing and tossed a corner of his pop-tart at Yancy's head. Because c'mon. One of them was slightly more of a morning person than the other.

Just slightly.

It helped to be able to mess with his brother.

Yancy gave him an annoyed look as it bang right off of his head.

He responded the only way he could - by reaching over to violently ruffle Raleigh's hair. And maybe shove his head against the couch.

Theo shuddered and shook his head. He was never going to be able to unsee that even if he hadn't actually seen it.

"I feel like a failure since I spent most of the week alone," Theo said, making a face. "Can't even beat the gremlins."

"Asshole!" Because no parents were around to tell them not to swear. Raleigh was smirking, though, as he shoved back at his brother.

Who missed the play fighting? Not him! No siree.

"I spent it alone too," Raleigh said like that helped. "I got kicked out of the room once too."

Ugh, roommates.
