So it turned out there was a whole channel dedicated to cheesy horror movies. It might not be Halloween time anymore but Isaac was always up for ragging on cheesy flicks about killer clowns. He even popped some popcorn for the occasion.

He hoped one of the clowns killed somebody with balloon animals. That'd be hilarious.

Isaac chuckled and shook his head. "No, it's awful. But hilarious."

Isabelle looked like she was doubting that. She came into the room and headed for the couch, anyway. "I don't know if I buy that. I think I have to investigate."

"You should," he said, holding out the bowl of popcorn to her. "You should also eat while you investigate."

"Is that a rule?" she wondered – jokingly, it should be added – as she grabbed a handful of popcorn before flopping down on the couch, bracelets chiming faintly as she did. "I wouldn't really know the protocol, I haven't really watched too many movies."

Or any.

"Really?" he asked. "Too busy with Shadowhunter-y things?"

Isabelle shrugged. "We don't have TVs."

They were so old school.

Isaac lifted his eyebrows. "So I guess you read a lot."

She shrugged again. "Not really. That's more Jace's thing. I train and patrol and do my nails."

A little flippant, but her nails still looked like some time had gone into making them as perfectly glittery as they were.

Isaac reached out to take Isabelle's hand so he could inspect said nails. "Pretty."

Isabelle let him take her hand because her nails were tiny works of art and deserved closer attention.

"Thank you," she said, preening and wiggling her fingers a bit for maximum sparkle. "It seems a better use of my time than TV, from what I've seen so far. Except maybe cooking shows."

"Oh there's plenty of good stuff out there. You just don't know where to look," Isaac said, running his fingers against Isabelle's hand. "Maybe I'll let you paint my claws sometime. Get them nice for the full moon."

"You'd be the most stylish werewolf of the full moon."

Which in her experience wasn't hard because they tended to look like they lived in the woods, anyway, but he was already not half bad. Hey, she probably wouldn't have let werewolves from back hom hold her hand.

"I'm thinking maybe a nice deep blue."

He tilted his head to the side as he pretended to ponder about that. "My eyes turn yellow so the two combined would be very school spirited."

Isabelle mirrored his head tilt. Because...

"One day I really need to see this transformation."

It was getting pretty hard to piece together in her head.

"Well I can show you a little now if you want." He didn't want to go full beta because, wow, it was not attractive but he didn't mind the other stuff.

Isabelle raised her eyebrows. "Well. Okay."

Call it professional curiosity.

Isaac nodded and let go of Isabelle's hand because the last thing he wanted to do was scratch her with his claws. "It won't be full on werewolf form, but I'll show you the basics."

The basics being claws, fangs and nifty glowing yellow eyes. His eyebrows were in tact, thank you!

It wasn't much, and Isabelle still looked a little more alert just on instinct alone. It was what you did around half-transformed werewolves, even if they did still have their eyebrows.

"Well," she said, "the eyes are actually pretty." A beat, and she added, "But the claws need work."
