1st floor lobby- Tuesday evening

Even though she was something like a delinquent who'd almost gotten kicked out of school more than once, Maddie had zero experience vandalizing anything. On purpose, anyway. Accidentally dinging someone's car door or scratching a desk with your pen didn't count.

So she'd come down to the lobby with a bag of gum, duct tape, and spray paint, which, okay, that should definitely be used outdoors, but those sounded like things that could at least deface the machine, right? And who knew, maybe she'd meet a handy telekinetic who could move the thing elsewhere! Did they have handy telekinetics here?

It didn't occur to her that she might get into trouble for this, but like anyone was going to give her detention for doing something to a machine that wasn't supposed to be here anyway? Really.

"Dare I ask what you are doing?" No, it was pretty obvious.

"Uhh." Yeah, no, she knew it was probably obvious. "Vandalism?"

Oh, right, this would make radio, too. Maddie thought one day she might have to think about things before doing them. Maybe tomorrow.

"We are decorating for the holiday, you say?" Loki suggested.

"Yes! That! Exactly," Maddie nodded. "Does that mean you want to help?"

"I do love decorating," he said, peering at the spray paint. "If I might take a few pictures for my Twitter followers after."

"Go for it," Maddie grinned. "You're on Twitter?"

She didn't know why she'd never considered he would be, except... Loki, you know?

"And Tumblr," he added with a grin. "Though I keep being booted from Facebook for some reason."

"Why am I not surprised that you're wrapped up in this bit of decorating?" Jessica asked.

"Because I love the holidays," Loki replied sincerely. So, so sincerely.

"Obviously," Jessica said. "Personally, I support this kind of holiday spirit, so no complaints here."

"Do you think it could use some glitter?" EVERYTHING NEEDED GLITTER.

"I'm Student Council President. I'm bound by office to approve all glitter," Jessica said.

"We have reserves."

He always wanted to say that.

"Well, it looks like you're setting up the weirdest party ever," Jessica said as she wandered down into the lobby.

"We're 'decorating for the holidays,'" Maddie said, using Loki's words.

"I'll be sure to report it that way tomorrow," Jessica said. "So what do you have in store for this thing?"

"Umm. I'm kind of winging it, actually," Maddie admitted. "I wouldn't mind moving it, but if I can't do that, might as well make it so it can't be used, right?"

Of course, when the fighting came people might want this thing, but it would be a 100% Maddie thing to just ruin everything while meaning well.

"I'm sure I could figure out a way to get it out of here once it's nice and messed up," Jessica said. "I'm very clever when I need to be."

"Are you sure? It's pretty heavy." And she got yelled at by the machine when she tried testing that.

Billy watched Maddie with her supplies for a moment, trying to figure out her plan. He was no telekinetic but hey, maybe a witch could be useful. "You look like you're onto something there," he said approvingly.

"We're decorating," Maddie smiled. "Come help!"

Billy laughed. "I don't usually incorporate duct tape into my decorating, but I guess there's a first time for everything," he said. "Are we trying to break the machine or just make it not useful?"

"Um. I think mostly we're rebelling, but it might be kind of hard to get money in there now," Maddie said. Oops. "And Jessica said she could rig something up to put it by the weapons locker."

"That's an awesome idea, although I really don't think anyone needs anything that's in there," Billy said, taking some of the gum to start. "I'm glad I'm not the only one weirded out by it."

"It kind of seems like a lot of people are," Maddie frowned. "I know there are some people who are totally fine with it, but this whole thing just seems messed up."
