By the Weapons Locker, Friday

While the gun vending machine was still, um, let's say 'festive,' it was once again working. It just happened to be at the weapons locker now instead of the dorm lobby. It also had a long workbench next to it, where Jessica was pulling pieces of Hyperion guns apart in order to put them back together. After she got it figured out last night, it turned out to be pretty simple. For a science nerd with weapons training, anyway. She wasn't sure how easy it might be for Joe Boughtvendingmachine-Guns, and don't ask her why the hyphen was there, it's that guy's name not hers.

If you wanted a gun enhanced in such a way or wanted to find out how to do it, she was more than happy to help. You just needed to bring two guns to the bench so she could do it. Or demonstrate it.

[OOC: Open to students, teachers, and people of town alike! This place is just a bit safer than going all the way out to Stark's or the Perk for gun enhancement.]

If you just want buy a gun and/or interact by the machine. It is extremely festive, with glitter and duct tape and such.

Jim guessed it was about time to buy a gun. He'd been avoiding it for awhile but after this morning's broadcast? Yeah, time to get something to arm himself.

He hadn't ever seen such a variety in guns before and it took him a moment to decide on something small but cool looking. Hopefully going for looks wouldn't come back to bite him.

Okay. Okay, fine.

Jackson was buying a gun. As much as he hated the idea of not being enough to fight, he had to admit the Hyperion guys' guns made it unlikely he was going to get close enough to attack them with fangs and claws.

Also there was the small problem where the thought of attacking them at all made his stomach roll. Like his aggression could tip right over into kanima territory if he wasn't careful.

But he was buying a gun.

There's a handy workbench right here. Get to work on your own, mod Jessica working on it, or if there's anyone else lending a hand, get help from them!

If you have any kind of engineering background, feel free to work out how to do it on your own or mod Jessica as having shown you how to do it. But please indicate that you're willing to help people out!

Cade gave her a little nod as he sat down with what had been a mall's Santa's toy sack (don't ask. Long story involving crying children) and poured out a dozen weapons and the tools and hardware to upgrade them to be really bad ass.

He'd paid more attention to watching Bantha (and his grandfather, at that) upgrading mechanics than he'd let on and he'd even be willing to fix other people's without charging them! One time only opportunity, folks. Don't miss it.

Jackson held his new corrosive pistol out to Cade, because he looked like he maybe knew what he was doing. And...

"I don't know what to do with this."

One time opportunity to bask in being better at something than Jackson, Cade.

Oh, Cade was basking.

"Point it the kark away from me, first of all," Cade said, reaching for the gun and giving Jackson a quick and comprehensive overview of using the weapon.

"I knew how to point and shoot," Jackson grumbled, after the lecture, even though he probably hadn't known half the stuff from anything other than movies. "Do I have to do anything else to it?"

"Well, you can make it glittery if you get too karking close to that vending machine," Cade said, "but I can make the grip a little easier in your hand. Give it a bit of a tryout at the targets and tell me if it's pulling to the left or right...I can fix that too."

"Ugh."

Yeah, that was Jackson's reaction to having to take instructions from Cade of all people. Didn't mean he didn't still do it. He went to the targets, took a shot –– okay, got a little bit startled when acid splashed against the target with the bullet – then took a few more just to be sure.

Then he came back. "Left." Short but not so sweet.

Short but not so sweet was how Cade would describe his type of women!

"Got it," Cade said, taking the weapon apart with frankly scary proficiency before reaching for the proper tools to repair it.

He handed it back a few moments later. "See if that's better."

That was actually a little scary, and didn't actually make cCade seem like any more of a trustworthy person than what he'd been in Jackson's mind before.

But he still went and tested the gun. No flinching this time.

"It's better."

Was that a thank you? Good enough.

Well, Cade wasn't a trustworthy person, but messing up a weapons fix was just a dick move even for him.

"You're welcome, pateesa."

Alex had weapons training, but her newly purchased gun was a bit foreign to her. Firing it would be no problem, but she didn't even know where to begin to enhance it. Since it was a one time opportunity and all...

"Looks like you know what you're doing," she said to Cade, noticing all the tools.

"My family has weird hobbies," Cade said with a wry smile. "Want it souped up?"

"Sounds like my kind of family," Alex said with a grin. Considering her family was Nikita now, it was an accurate statement.

"And yeah, I'd appreciate that," she added. "I mean, I could leave it as is, but if there's an opportunity for it to be completely badass, I'm taking it."

"You're used to shooting these?" Cade checked. "I don't want to give you more gun than you can handle."

"I've had weapons training," Alex confirmed. "Okay, maybe not with this specific type, but I think I can handle it."

She didn't want to get too over-confident, especially when weapons were involved.

Cade gave her an appraising look, then nodded. "Go try it out on the range and then let me know how much more power you want."

Alex fired a few shots at the target, slightly disappointed that the bullets weren't acidic. Still...

"This is pretty damn powerful. Could use maybe a little more."

But not too much more. Alex knew how much she could handle...and how much she could not.

I'm on SP pretty much all day, but if you really want to talk to Jessica, ping her here and I'll get it it! Slowly!

For the record, yes, Peter Parker is anti-gun and killing and stuff. Jessica Drew has been in a couple wars alongside The Ultimates and SHIELD. She may not be willing to take lives herself, but she understands the realities of firepower in situations like this.
