Second floor common room- Monday evening

Any concerns Maddie had had about giving up her powers had been nicely put to rest by actually turning completely intangible over the last week. She couldn't talk, she couldn't touch anything, and she'd spent most of her time worrying that she'd just dissipate into nothing.

So today, powerless Maddie was taking advantage of soda and pizza that had just been delivered, because naturally when you got your body back you filled it with things that were bad for you. She was even flipping channels on the remote just because she could actually push the buttons.

"It's nice to not fear for our lives or... universes, or whatever," Maddie said thoughtfully. "I like the quiet. At least for a while, till the next crisis rolls in."

"Of course. There's always another." Cosette frowned a bit and brushed pizza crust crumbs off her skirt. "Wouldn't it be nice to have some warning before the next one, though!"

"Right? Especially if it's going to last a while. Some of us have plans," Maddie said. And added, "I mean, not me, but I'm sure other people do."

"I don't either, if it helps," Cosette told her. "I'm never entirely sure what people mean when they say that, though."

"What, plans?" Maddie shrugged. "I don't know. People are probably getting ready for graduation, at least."
