Second Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Will thought he deserved a lazy night after the whole group therapy thing. It'd been a little strange to talk about some things with people who weren't completely in the know but he felt a little better to know that some of his feelings weren't completely out of whack.

Regardless, he wasn't thinking about his issues and his emotions tonight. Tonight, he was eating ice cream for dinner (it was amazing all the different flavors that were out there) while he watched some ridiculous movie he swore had to be a joke. But, it was apparently something someone had made and people had gotten paid for.

He was going to need a lot of ice cream to survive this movie through to the end.

"What in the name of all that is holy is on the television?" Celia asked, eyes wide as she wandered into the room.

Her own common room was a floor up, yes, but her own common room didn't have that atrocity on the screen.

"It's a cinematic masterpiece!" Will quipped, snickering around a spoonful of ice cream. "It's won many awards."

If it had won any awards, Will would die of shock.

"Then the standards for award-giving have changed in the last hundred or so years," Celia noted, gracefully slipping onto the couch and giving his ice cream a curious glance. "And what flavor is that?"

"This is..." He turned the container to take a look since he'd actually forgotten what with the exciting movie he was watching (exciting in a ridiculous way, of course). "...chocolate chip cookie dough."

Which meant it had absolutely no redeeming healthy benefits.

"Wanna try it?"

"It's not bad to eat raw cookie dough?" Celia asked, looking way more intrigued than actually worried about that prospect.

"Well, it's bad in the sense that it's not healthy like fruits and vegetables but it's not gonna hurt you at all," Will promised. "It's really good too."

"I'm not worried about my figure or anything," Celia said, waving that concern off as she scurried over to the kitchen to grab a spoon and returned to the couch. "I just haven't ever heard of eating cookies before they're fully baked, in ice cream or otherwise."

She totally believed him about it being good, though. It looked like it.

"Then, you have been missing out," he said, holding out the container to her. "It's one of the best flavors out there. It'll make you not want to eat actual cookies ever again."

Okay, maybe not since cookies were pretty darn good too.

"That's quite a claim," Celia said, taking a dainty little spoonful and carefully eating it.

"...you weren't lying, though. That almost makes this movie bearable."

"Nothing is going to make this movie completely bearable," Will lamented though he smiled. "But take a bigger spoonful than that. Come on, it only gets better."

[Apologies for dropping off but man, I got smacked with a headache. SP is good though!]

Celia obliged, since now she knew she liked it, and smiled at him. "Why are you watching if it's so awful?"

[*pets* feel better omg!!]

"Because I just needed something ridiculous and insane to help me unwind a bit," Will said with a shrug. "And there didn't seem to be anything better than earthquakes that caused giant spiders to appear."

"That's not a real thing in this world, is it?" Celia checked. Because it could be, you know. She was learning to expect anything.

"I guess it...could be in some people's worlds but it's not something I've ever seen before in this world," he said which he knew wasn't very reassuring. "From what I know, earthquakes just produce damage and power outages. Not spiders."

It actually was fairly reassuring -- Will was one of Celia's touchpoints for what passed for "normal" in the modern world (with some obvious exceptions.) She helped herself to another spoonful of ice cream, thoughtful. "And giant spiders in general aren't typical?" she added.

Couldn't hurt to ask.

"I really hope not because I don't need anyone to see me screeching and running for my life if they do exist," he joked, laughing. "Seriously though, I don't think they're that common here. Spiders can get pretty big but not that big. This is all just movie magic."

Bad CGI and terribly edited movie magic but still!

"Movie magic?" Celia repeated curiously, then frowned a little. "Oh. It's a computer thing, isn't it? Not really magic."

Her magic was better. You know, in her opinion.

"Oh yeah, definitely not real magic," Will said, shaking his head. "It's the result of technology and computers and green screens and other nifty things. No actual magic involved unless Hollywood's been hiding stuff from us for awhile.":

"It'd be dangerous if it was real," Celia decided, nodding at the screen. "Look at that thing. It's monstrous. I could easily make a spider that big, but controlling it and not getting eaten in the process would take some doing."

...she would not be making any enormous spiders any time soon, promise.

"Whoa, you could make a spider that big?" Will asked, eyes wide. "Really? Wow."

"I've never tried," she admitted, "but probably. As long as I know the physical properties of something, I can change it and make it bigger or smaller." Celia wrinkled her nose. "So I'd probably have to spend some time studying it closely. Ick."

"Yeah, that's maybe a little gross but if you ever need to defend yourself..." Will trailed off and nodded at the giant spider on the television. "Would probably freak a lot of people out."

"I'd have to either find a spider or carry one around in my pocket," Celia mused, "but it's not a bad idea. Controlling something that big, though...that'd be hard. I'm not quite at telephone-phone telekinetic strength, yet. The biggest thing I've ever manipulated is a bed. So, I could make it huge...but then it's kind of on its own."

"But, it could work," Will pointed out since it looked like she'd admitted that too. "I mean, it's an option. And it doesn't have to be a spider either. Maybe something smaller but just as ferocious? A wolf? Cougar?"

"But I can't control its mind," Celia pointed out. "I could manipulate a cougar -- honestly, if I spent enough time studying its anatomy, I could make a cougar. But it might turn on me just as easily as an enemy." She eyed him, and added, "It's not a bad idea, though. I'm sure there's a way for it to work."

"Well, that's true," Will said, scratching his cheek. "But there could be ways to temporarily make it fight for you before you magic it away or something. There's always something out there."
