The Deck, Tuesday Morning
Even after sleeping on it, Anders didn't feel much better about what had happened in Edge. They'd put so much work into the water filtration system -- only to see it wrecked in what was most likely a matter of hours. And even though they'd fixed the immediate issues, he knew nothing would stop the same people from coming back and keeping water away from the thirsty. Again.
It made a man angry, was all.
Kittens, on the other hand, made a man happy. And if Anders couldn't stop brooding, he could at least get out of his room. Carrying Lachlan in one oversized pocket, he took his breakfast onto the porch and set the cat down. The tuxedo kitten snapped at shadows and tried to catch every insect that happened by -- mostly unsuccessfully -- while Anders sipped at his tea.
[OOC: Open deck, open post!]

Lachlan nudged at Edward's hand, urging the petting to continue.

He raised one eyebrow at Edward. "Better?"

He sighed and tried to be at least slightly more pleasant. "Did you go on that trip on Saturday?"

If Anders had pushed it any further, he may well have gotten moody about it. The sudden subject change indicated that All Was Well, though, so he was happy to drop that whole bit.

"I can't say what you saw, but I was there," he confirmed. "Looked at the animals and mummies and things in the natural history museum, and then saw some art. It was an excellent day."

Not that he had much context, but he was still curious.

He shrugged.
(He'd have found it more interesting if he'd been aware his grandson would wind up in the middle of all of it, albeit in another version of history.)

That part didn't suck, at least.

Orlesians were weird and tacky.
