Why Travis was venturing out when he was vomiting words over everyone and everything, he didn't know. Maybe talking to someone would make him feel less like some loner slacker than if he spent time in his room, talking to his phone or possibly slipping and trying to talk to Cate. That just did not need to happen.

So, the late afternoon hours found him in the common room, silently flipping through television. Well, he was silent until his phone dinged and a message from Kyle flashed at him.

going on a date. with a guy. advice?

"Yeah, don't get too attached because he's definitely going to find someone else and dump you if you turn your back for a day or die for five years."

Travis closed his mouth and looked a little sick at having let that slip. He was just going to wait on texting Kyle back.

"We got better," Gwen said with a shrug.

"Still a weird thing to have happened and be sharing with someone, right?" Travis asked, rubbing the back of his neck. "You're the first person I've told about this."

"I get it. I don't talk about it at all, if I can help it. Which I can't." Stupid island. "At least we both understand it."

"Yeah, ain't that the truth," Travis said, rubbing the back of his neck once more. "I'd say we should form a club but I doubt the membership would be beyond us and plus it's a stupid idea that I just made up to keep talking because I'm a little shaken."

"I'm good with a membership of just us," Gwen said quickly. "Mainly because I don't want to keep sharing with people."

"You can be CEO and I'll be COO." Travis paused. "I barely know what those initials mean, just that they're important and we'll get paid a lot of fake money."

So, a great position.

"Thanks for, you know, not freaking out about it. I mean, you wouldn't because you've been through it but still. Thank you."

"Same to you. And I won't go spreading it around any more than it's already gonna today," Gwen promised.
