The Roof | Wednesday Morning
It almost felt like Henrietta. The sun's rays were streaking out through clouds and the day, while not scorching, was damp and muggy. Ronan had met a lot of mornings like this after nights of not sleeping. He'd often throw the window open in his room, letting in the suffocating breeze like it might help. It never had but at least it was familiar.
The cuts on his shoulder were healing nicely. Legs dangling of the roof, he found himself gingerly touching the scabby marks that were crossing over the dark lines of his tattoo. He winced slightly before pulling his hand away and bracing it against the roof's ledge.
This place was tiny. This place was smaller than Henrietta and that was saying something. Declan would hate it. Matthew would love it. Gansey would never get bored, Noah would just be his ghostly self and Adam...Adam would probably be glad to have a fresh start.
But, right now it was just him. No one to make sure he did the right thing so he was just going to sit there on the roof, contemplating a lot of things that were probably not smart to contemplate.
Maybe he'd jump. He probably wouldn't, don't worry. Not today, at least.

He padded across the roof and climbed easily onto the ledge.

Whatever, this place was strange. Seeing a fox wasn't a big deal. He'd let it go.

Leave it to Ezra to convey smugness in all his forms.

But, he was being quiet, at least, so Ronan wasn't going to bitch. He glanced over once more before he shut his eyes and breathed deep.
The air smelled so different here.

Tilting his head. Maybe it was the preserve.

Still kind of strange to see a fox on the roof but maybe it was someone's pet or something.

Ezra yipped in Ronan's general direction when he caught him looking. Then he resumed his padding, peering over the ledge.

Ezra made a growly sound, because he could.

All the better for snarling at him.

It was just a little nip!

"Do that again and you're going off the roof," he threatened.

It was pretty damn sassy for a fox.

Ezra harrumphed as best as he could with his current throat, but got to his feet and hopped off the ledge and onto the roof again.

Ezra settled for leisurely making his way across the roof before disappearing back inside, the same way he'd come in.
