The Salle, Thursday Afternoon
After more exploring of the dorms (and getting lost. Always gettong lost.) Thorin found himself at the salle.
This time gettjng lost turned out for the best! Score one for his lack of navigation skills!
For now, was busy inspecting the practice weapons for quality and the proper balance. Not too bad for men.

She did not pause when she saw him. His presence here was not a surprise. "Good afternoon," she said, and went towards one of the dummies to inspect it and see if it was still usable.

Not so much a question as a statement.

"I would be opposed to seeing your style. I have not yet seen the combat of men."
Give him a few years and he'd see it all.

Live steel. That was a good plan.

Pfft. If they had been properly trained, surely they could avoid taking off any limbs.
She gave the practice sword a little practice swing.

Thorin adjusted his grip slightly, moving further into the center of the room for more space to spar. Once there, he took a double handed grip, elbow of his dominant arm pulled up and sword pointed in Cassandra's direction in an en garde position.

She brought up her arm, tilting her wrist until the sword was horizontal and just slightly lower than her head.
She narrowed her eyes.

The fact that she did, in fact, strike towards his shoulder a moment later was about as close to tricksy as she would ever get.

He kept his stance nice and low for a solid base to shove his shoulder into her. Hopefully before she was recovered from the block.

But alas, stumble back he did, swinging the sword up to clip her as he moved.

She caught the sword just in time, her own angled down as she caught it. She grunted briefly with the exertion, shoving Thorin's sword up.

Thorin stepped back to take the force of that without being completely thrown off. He pulled his sword back up into the en garde position, watching for an opening.

"I believe it is your turn, now," Cassandra said, taking a step back of her own so she could catch her breath.
He was strong. She would give him that.
no subject
Nbd.
"We do tend to be," Thorin replied, adjusting his grip before lunging forward with a far too dainty spin in there for momentum. Oh my god, Thorin. Leave that shit to elves.
no subject
Ugh, dainty spins.
There was only one way to react to those: use the extra time to bring your sword into a defensive position, and then kick at his stomach as hard as one could.

Thorin huffed in annoyance, forcing their blades down at the offensive leg.

Cassandra grunted and pulled it back, though one blade went skimming against her knee.
no subject
Thorin pulled back, giving his sword a little twirl to work out the tension in his wrist. Also because it just looked cool.
no subject
She resisted the urge to rub her knee, and brought her sword back into position. "Again."
no subject
Thorin nodded, circling around her instead of rushing forward right away. Only once he deemed it the best strategic time to attack did he push forward again, sword swinging.
