Second Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening
Mabel's classes were finished for the week, and she was in a fairly social sort of mood... which, in fairness, was exactly the sort of mood she tended to be in roughly 99% of the time anyway. Waddles was sleeping off dinner back in her room, and it occurred to her that maybe this was an excellent opportunity to get some knitting in while also taking care of that whole 'temporarily limited wardrobe' issue that she currently had. So, she'd done some brief shopping in town (Fandom town was small and cute but it was functional!), and now she had herself a whole bag of yarn, some knitting needles, and a box of Chipackers (the chip that tastes like a cracker!), which she was currently sitting down on the floor in front of the television with.
She could have sat on the couch, yes, but there was just something about parking herself way too close to the television while she knitted herself a new sweater and watched old reruns of Tiger Fist that felt right, around here.
[OOC: Open for the glory of the second floor!]

The solution to that, of course, was to find people to get to know.
"Hi," she greeted, walking in to flop down sideways over one of the chairs. "Whatsat you're knittin?"

Mabel and her "Olive You" shirt-in-progress were pleased to make your acquaintance, Lottie!

"Oh you must be Dipper's sister!" That was that keen mystery-solving brain at work, right there. "I'm Lottie, his new roommate. I guess bottomless pits aren't too great for bringin luggage along, huh."
no subject
Because she was sharing a room with Dipper, but still...
"You might be the first girl Dipper's ever shared a room with besides me," she shared. "If he gets too weird, you can come talk to me. I know allll about Dipper's crazy moments, trust me."
She knew about them so, so well.

Mabel meant this in only the most loving way.
"Has he even looked up from his book since Saturday?"
no subject
Lottie was pretty much desperately pretending she didn't want to steal that book from Dipper and read it all, herself.

"We've been kind of into the whole mystery thing for a few years now," Mabel explained. "We even call ourselves the Mystery Twins!"
Or, rather, Mabel called them the Mystery Twins until Dipper had given in and agreed to go along with it. Which was more or less the same thing.
"But he doesn't really relax very well. He'll probably come around and start exploring properly soon, but my best guess is, he's plotting out exactly how to do that right now."

Her eyeroll demonstrated just what she thought of that concept.

But this was just right by her room, so she bounced over and poked her head inside, stuffed giraffe clutched in her arms (Kathy had bought it for her, so her bunny was guarding her bed) and then beamed.
"Hi, hi! Mabel!"
no subject
She'd never met it before. Which, granted, wasn't saying much, considering they hadn't even known one another a full week yet.

"Kathy bought her for me," because this one was a girl obviously, "but I haven't named her yet."
Alluka plopped herself down on the floor by Mabel and held out her giraffe to Mabel. "She says hello," Alluka said solemnly.

And then she was smiling up at Alluka again.
"Kathy is one of the TAs in our outdoors class, right?"
no subject
"Kathy's the really pretty one, with the dark hair," she shared. Kathy was also the girl TA, so there was that. "She's sooo nice."

She looked around.
"No Waddles today?"

Bwop bwop.
"And I don't see why your brother can't be your friend, too. My brother is my best friend. We've been through everything together!"

Getting on Alluka's good side was pretty much the easiest thing to do, but that didn't mean compliments weren't nice.
"Thank you," she said happily. "She's new, so she hasn't got a name yet. I'm Alluka. What's your name?"

There were no ribbons on the giraffe, however.
"Do you have any ideas?"
