Fifth Floor Common Room, Monday Afternoon
The weekend had been a quiet one, and Ringo had spent a lot of time in the old warehouse district working on new tricks. She felt like she was almost there with that tricky wall-launch into a spinning rail grind. Another good weekend of work and she'd have it nailed, which was a good feeling.
But it also meant that she hadn't spent much time in the dorms properly, and since she didn't have Monday classes, she felt like a lazy day in was something she'd sort of earned. Which was why she'd only done an easy one-hour series of run before coming back to the dorms and showering with plans to grab some junk food from the common room after.
Except that when she got out of the shower, it was to a message from Mikan back home. Apparently someone had found a video archive of a virtual face-off between Kogarasumaru and the original Sleeping Forest line-up. And it was a Balloon match, too! Balloon was by far Ringo's favorite team-based AT competition because it was so vertical, and the tactical options were so intricate as both teams sought to be the first to grab the balloon while doing everything in their power to keep the other team from doing the same.
It was the sort of video that couldn't be appreciated properly on a phone's screen, so Ringo's existing plan to spend the afternoon in the common room were definitely locked in. She rushed in, grabbed a huge pile of snacks pretty much completely at random, and got the video set up on the big screen.
She was definitely going to watch what promised to be a truly epic battle as many times as she could. She kept rewinding to rewatch specific sequences, slowing things down to watch key moments intently. Especially that moment near the end when Emily managed to dodge past Kilik to make that jump... Knowing both of the riders in question, that was maybe the most epic moment of the whole match.
