Shooting Range, Wednesday Late Morning

Tali hadn't heard much from the crew on the Normandy lately, but she did know from Shepard's occasional "you're the expert on the geth" queries that the Alliance was still sticking them with cleanup duty. She'd also gotten a short and somewhat disgruntled h-mail from Ashley to this effect -- and that had been a bit of a surprise, but a nice one, considering how standoffish Ash used to be with her and the other non-human members of the squad. Other than that, though, well. They had a job to do, and Tali understood that. It wasn't as if she didn't bury herself in research whenever she wasn't in class, either.

But Ashley'd also made a point of asking if Tali's marksmanship was getting rusty now that she wasn't spending every day shooting geth in the face, and Tali had to admit that she'd been slacking off just a bit on that front.

So today there'd been a good long practice session followed by a thorough cleaning and maintenance of her weapons. But then, as she was putting her shotgun back into the locker, her omni-tool went off with a news alert, something about the first satellite images of Pluto.

Her first reaction was to think that it was cute how humans were so excited about finally seeing pictures of a planet in their own solar system, and then exactly which planet this was sank in.

And now she was just sitting cross-legged on the floor by the weapons locker, reading every news article she could find about this New Horizons spacecraft. According to the history from her universe, humans weren't due to discover the Charon Relay and intergalactic travel for another 134 years, but who knew? Maybe things would be different here.

[OOC: So in ME canon, Pluto's moon Charon is actually a mass relay encased in ice and I'm basically never going to stop making jokes about this. Post is open in any case!]
