4th Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

When Eggsy had ordered dinner, he hadn't been aware of how much food would be brought. He in no way had enough money to pay for everything that showed up with the deeply apathetic deliver guy.

Apparently this island was weird on every level.

But he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth, taking a few bags of burgers back up to the common room to eat an ungodly amount while avoiding his roommate. All in all, not the worst evening he could have had.

Jasper's room wasn't on his floor but he couldn't not stop when he saw the sheer amount of hamburgers that seemed to be surrounding someone new.

"You hungry?" he asked, fairly sure that wasn't exactly the case. He'd ordered food enough times to know sometimes this place just gave you about eighty tons more than you needed.

"I could eat," Eggsy replied, surveying his kingdom of fast food bags.

"Yeah, you're gonna have to if you're gonna eat all this," Jasper said, wandering into the common room. "And then probably spend your night in the bathroom."

Unless Eggsy had a cast iron stomach or something.

"I'll pass on that part," Eggsy replied, making a face. "They just left the extra. Told 'em I ain't payin' for it, but they left 'em anyway."

"They do that," Jasper said, looking at the grease coating some of the bags with interest. It certainly smelled good. "Not sure how they can afford it but I don't tend to ask them too many questions. I just take the food and eat the leftovers. Saves me money."

"You want some?" He could afford to be generous. For now. He'd either have to end up finding a job or maybe sell some of his roommate's stuff if he wanted to keep it up.

Okay, he wouldn't do the latter, but it'd be funny to see her face.

Jasper thought about it for a second before nodding and sitting down. "Yeah, why not? It's either this or some cereal I've got up in my room. I'll take this any day of the week."

"Think my roommate would poison me if I kept food in the room." Clearly a concern.

"Yeah?" Jasper raised an eyebrow at that. Joking or not, death and maiming was something that immediately attracted his attention. He couldn't help himself. "Why's that? You charmed them that much already, huh?"

Jasper, that was weird. Stop being weird.

"Personality clash," Eggsy replied with exaggerated care. Because he'd heard how things end up on the radio. "Think she's still tryin' to get me kicked out when she's not working on gettin' her own room."

Blame his father. It was his fault. Jasper only went with what he knew.

"Sounds like a charmer," he said, raising an eyebrow. "The only way I've seen people get a single is if their roommate takes off."

Or dies. So don't die, Eggsy.

"Well this is gonna be a fucking nightmare."

Okay, well, day one of classes was a done deal and Eric had managed to survive without spontaneously combusting or anything. Which was a feat given that his only class of the day was Sex Ed, and he was a delicate Southern flower.

"Eggsy, hey!" he greeted. "Are you planning to eat all those yourself?"

Maybe keep that to yourself, Eric. Otherwise Eggsy would never stop with the mocking.

"Nah, have some." MAYBE GROW A LITTLE.

Jasper settled back in his chair, amused but not overtly. His persona, his whole demeanor meant that he did take pleasure in other people's pain. He kept it subtle though.

"Maybe things'll change when she settles down?" Jasper suggested. "Maybe you'll end up friends or something?"

That got Eggsy to laugh at least. "Yeah, and maybe I'll learn to fly."

Just because SOME PEOPLE seemed to think he needed more protein...

"That's very generous of you," acknowledged the boy who had literally baked brownies just yesterday for the express purpose of sharing them.

"You're talking this person up a lot," Jasper noted, tilting his head. "See, now I wanna actually meet her and see if she's that bad. I've probably met worse. I can handle most anyone."

"If you do, let me know." So he could watch and laugh. "X-something is her name. Couldn't pronounce it if I tried."

Jasper nodded, making a mental note to find this X-something person for a myriad of reasons. Not the least was the morbid, macabre reasons that lived inside his dark mind.

"I'm Jasper, by the way," he said, introducing himself. "Pretty easy to pronounce."

"Eggsy," he replied. "Nice to meet ya."

"Eggsy?" Jasper repeated, sounding amused. "How'd you get that name?"

"s a nickname to make up for me folks naming me 'Gary'." Which made him sound like a 50 year old accountant.

"So, it's not because you really like eggs or something?" Jasper wondered curiously.
