The Salle, Thursday evening

There really wasn't enough to hit here. Sure, during classes Skaar could get some action in since he picked those carefully. But still, he was used to being able to find a tough dinosaur to fight whenever he wanted. Or watching after the Dark Avengers, knowing they might try to do villain crap at any moment. Or spending time with his father and all of his friends, any one of whom might go gamma mad and need to be fought, or just get attacked, any time whatsoever.

But Fandom didn't have monsters or villains or time bombs personified. So if Skaar couldn't hit things, he was going to focus on HOW he might hit things when the opportunity presented itself. Using his own sword - which was bigger than the swords in the Danger Shop the other day - he started practicing the things Sam demonstrated during class. And he was doing it at a faster speed than he was yesterday, letting his crazy strength swing the sword as hard and as quickly as he could.

With each swing and thrust, there was a satisfying whoosh of air. If he could actually get the technique down and make himself a better swordfighter instead of just a Hulk with a sword, he would probably be even more terrifying than he was. And boy did that thought appeal to Skaar.

Rey mainly was feeling restless, and had brought her staff down in case she could do something with it, just to get the blood flowing. But she was fine watching the giant guy for a while, too.

"Sort of. I wasn't attached to it, don't let me interrupt," she told him.

"Thank you," she said, pulling the staff free. "You're pretty good at that."

"I think that goes for most people about most things," Rey said. "Is there anyone you can spar with?"

"Is no one here able to match you there?" Rey wondered.

"They probably frown on that," she nodded. "Hopefully, anyway. I don't know what to make of it here except that it's strange."

"A little. I'm trying to remember that everyone also thinks it's weird, and that its temporary," she said. "So far it's been more frustrating than anything."

She paused. "All right, given what you've told me I can see that."

"I guess so," she said neutrally. "I got a job. That's one step towards adjusting, I think."

"Stark's. They are not very selective," she said, sounding a little surprised.

"Your father knows him?" She was still adjusting to certain things. "How?"

"I've heard some about that sort of thing. That takes getting used to," she admitted.

"Is that a good thing or bad?" she wondered.

"Your technique is slightly off", said Laura as she wandered closer.

By what she meant it was cool to find Skaar here, of course.
