Gwen hates you a little, modders.

He still hates people in general, but if you're keeping her entertained, A+.

How was St Valentines Day celebrated in this era? Not that Lucille cared much about it, but at least it wasn't completely new. She and her brother had used to exchange cards, but neither of them had received any from anyone else.

She approached the table, looking at what was on display.

"Please tell me you're here to buy something," Gwen greeted her.

"Oh?" Lucille gave her a look that was quite clear she wasn't impressed. If you were trying to sell something you could at least make an effort. "Why should I?"

"Because the money goes back to help Student Council and therefore our school," she said. "Also because I'm really, really, really bored."

"I can't argue with the first reason," Lucille said. "But I fail to see how the latter is in any way my problem."

Still, she wanted to know what was on offer. "What are you selling?"

Oh, Gwen could make boredom everyone's problem.

"Tickets to the dance, and flowers to everybody," she answered.

Saying the above narrative would probably not help her case.

It was unlikely that anyone would send Lucille flowers, and just as unlikely that she would send any, so she asked:

"What will the dance be like?"

Lucille had never taken much interest in dancing, but could at least dance a waltz.

"Way too much glitter, spiked punch, occasional dancing, and everybody using glitter as a conversation-starter," Gwen reported. "Also there will be glitter."

"Glitter? Why?" Lucille frowned, more unimpressed than confused.

Explain the reason behind glitter, Gwen.

"Because someone long ago was a crazy person and now we have to observe tradition?" She had no idea.

"I see." No, she didn't. "And does everyone go to this dance?"

It wasn't that she wasn't curious, but Lucille preferred not to seem too interested.

"Most everyone." Gwen didn't, but again, but trying to kill a sale here. "I mean, what else are people going to do on a Saturday night here?"

Was the dance on a Saturday? She hoped so.

If almost everyone went to the dance, perhaps she should?

"I will consider it," Lucille said with a small nod.

"Think you could decide while you're down here?"

"I don't like to make hasty decisions."

Again, Lucille didn't consider Gwen's boredom her responsibility.

I'm always so happy when I remember things.
