2nd Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

In Home Ec they had been taught how to make bread, and although Lucille hadn't been particularly successful until Hyacinthe came to her assistance -- which had been enjoyable -- she knew it was a skill that she might come to need in the future, even if she might not admit that to others.

Reading recipes, it seemed like making scones was easier than making bread, which was why the smell of newly made scones filled the common room. They didn't look pretty and Lucille herself had flour in her hair and on her dress. Hopefully they would taste good, and would make a nice breakfast.

Perhaps Cassandra would like them too? She might save some for her, even though they would be better fresh from the oven.

[Open common room!]

No way! Everyone liked Pinkie! Unless they were villains. Are you a villain, Lucille?

"Well sure! It's always exciting to try new things. I bet you can't wait to give these little puppies a taste, huh?"

Lucille had murdered her parents. Did that make her a villain?

"Puppies?" Lucille wrinkled her nose. "I suppose they will make a good breakfast."

[Now I want scones.]

Kind of, yeah.

"A great breakfast," Pinkie agreed. "And maybe lunch. And a snack!" She was a bit like a hummingbird, surviving on pure sugar. "Are you going to use icing on them? Or jam? Or melted butter! And have them with lots of tea!"

"Is that important to you?" Lucille replied.

She wasn't going to share after all.

". . . What you eat for breakfast?"

Geez, Lucille, she was just making conversation.

[crimson_sister]

"Yes?"

Lucille knew that, she just didn't want to have a conversation with you, Pinkie. You had made a bad impression.

[sprinklesgoboom]

"Not really." Pinkie shrugged. "I just figured I'd make suggestions. Since you're obviously new to scones."

[crimson_sister]

"How can you be sure of that?" Lucille asked.

There was nothing wrong with her scones.

[sprinklesgoboom]

Pinkie blinked at her guilelessly. "Oh gosh! Is that what they usually look like where you're from?"

[crimson_sister]

Lucille wasn't going to ask what they looked like where Pinkie was from, as she assumed this was a criticism of her rather successful first attempt.

"Yes."

[sprinklesgoboom]

"Okidokiloki!" Pinkie didn't believe her, but she also didn't much care, either way. "The important thing is for them to taste good, anyway. And to have fun while you make them!"
