2nd Floor Common Room, Saturday Morning

In Home Ec they had been taught how to make bread, and although Lucille hadn't been particularly successful until Hyacinthe came to her assistance -- which had been enjoyable -- she knew it was a skill that she might come to need in the future, even if she might not admit that to others.

Reading recipes, it seemed like making scones was easier than making bread, which was why the smell of newly made scones filled the common room. They didn't look pretty and Lucille herself had flour in her hair and on her dress. Hopefully they would taste good, and would make a nice breakfast.

Perhaps Cassandra would like them too? She might save some for her, even though they would be better fresh from the oven.

"Good morning." Thorin had sort of gotten used to a pink pony, but now there was a pink girl on campus. Of course there was.

"Morning!" Pinkie greeted. "Were you drawn in by the amazing sconey scent too?"

"Something similar to that," he replied. "Were you assisting Lucille in baking?"

[sprinklesgoboom]

"Nope!" They'd be more neatly shaped if Pinkie had a hand in it. Also, they'd be covered in sugar. "Those are all hers."

Well, now Thorin was going to be very wary about trying them. Because he'd met Lucille, you see.

"For a class?" All he'd ever seen made by here was tea.

Pinkie shrugged. "Maybe? She's not in Creative Cooking, but I guess one of the other classes might've covered scones."

[dwarvenswagger]

Thorin eyed the scones again. "Perhaps another breakfast is the best option."

[sprinklesgoboom]

"That might be a good plan," Pinkie said. "She doesn't really seem like the sharing type."

That was not actually a whisper, Pinkie.

Thorin dutifully nodded along, eyebrows going up at the 'whisper'.

"Thorin, son of Thrain. At your service," he said with a little bow of his head.

"Pinkie Pie, daughter of Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz. Nice to meetcha!"
