Lucille was selling tickets to the Valentine's dance. There was a sign saying VALENTINE'S DANCE TICKETS HERE, there was red glitter, there was a grumpy looking Lucille.

There wasn't like she could go to the dance with anyone she cared about, the style of dancing was horrible and she still wasn't fond of glitter. Still, she would do her duty and sell tickets.

"The style of dancing here is very strange," Lucille said. "Is it different where you are from too?"

Not waiting for an answer she added, now smiling properly: "But I want to thank you for the flower you sent me."

"Yes and no," Hyacinthe said, thinking about it. "The fancy dances Phedre has learned for court are stately, with only the touch of a hand. But the types of dances we do in the streets? Far more lively and excitable." He held out a hand. "Care to try one?"

And added with a smile, "You are most welcome, ma cherie. I saw it and could think of no other."

Lucille hesitated. She was in the lobby and she wasn't really inclined to dancing. "I am sorry," she said. "I will have to decline. I am not comfortable with lively dances, and prefer to play the music."

She did squeeze his hand though.

He took the refusal with grace, bringing her hand up to kiss before letting it go. "Does this mean I'll not see you there, then? Not at all?"

Lucille hesitated. "I might make a brief appearance." Then she added, in an attempt to seem less incompetent at flirting than she was: "If only to see you there."
