The Roof, Sunday Afternoon

The last couple of weeks were all sort of fuzzy in Ringo's head. She remembered having a sort of conversational melt-down with Dante before Spring Break, and then vaguely remembered a phone call with Shiemi when she'd realized that she'd totally spaced out on the Spring Break trip even happening. But after that it was hard to remembered what she'd done.

She was pretty sure that she'd mostly just sat in her room, spending a lot of time sleeping, waking up to nightmares, and then drifting off to sleep again. She thought that she had to have made at least a couple of AT runs during that time, but couldn't seem to remember any of the details.

She'd answered her sisters' various texts with short, vague assurances that she was okay whenever she remembered to, but this morning Ume had responded to one of those assurances threatening to tell Rika that something was wrong and that the whole family needed to come check on her. Even as smothered as her thoughts felt, Ringo knew that she didn't want her sisters seeing her like this, so she'd scrambled, trying to be extra convincing when she sent back that it really wasn't necessary. She didn't think she'd done a very good job of convincing Ume, but at least her sister had relented.

But it had served as something of a wake-up call. Ringo knew that Ume would carry out that threat if things didn't get better, and she didn't want that, but Ringo didn't know how to make things better. At least she'd managed to force herself out of bed, bundled up, and headed up to the roof. She just needed a change of scenery, and the roof was about as close as it got to the fifth floor if you were half-hoping no one else would be there.

Which left her sitting on the edge of the roof in the biting wind, trying desperately to figure out what she was going to do. She wasn't sure when the idea percolated to the top of her mind, but at some point it occurred to her that while she was struggling to deal with the way she felt, Crazy Apple never had before. In fact, Crazy Apple was really good at dealing with the feelings Ringo was lost in. Well. Not dealing with, but weathering, at least.

She wasn't sure how long it was from the time she had that thought before she closed her eyes in resignation. And when she opened them, a cold, lazy smile spread across her face.

She felt a lot better.

[ooc: Establishy, but open if anyone wants to find her on the roof.]
