Second Floor Common Room; Monday Afternoon [04/02].
Ugh, what was going on today? Even after taking most of the morning to..uh...take care of things (and now feeling very, very, very grateful to not have a roommate for the first time since Shiemi left), Summer was still feeling all restless and riled up. Was this a weird after-effect of having blown herself up to gigantic proportions, turned literally inside out, and then put back to normal again? Was it some kind of radiation totally messing up with her system now? Maybe she should probably think a little bit before randomly exposing herself to powerful body-altering machines on a whim, because, man, it was crazy in there right now. Hormone city. Probably just her cells trying to regulate themselves again and doing a really craptastic job of it...
Boy, wasn't she going to be glad to find out that it was only wacky pollen doing this to her and not weird nuclear changes to herself on a atomic level...
Still, she needed some distraction, and figured a good way to do it was to work on some fancy jello infused cakes she'd heard about on Pinterest, right? Who didn't love cake? And she definitely loved jello, and it would demand she put her attention elsewhere, and it would be good...all good...
If she could even find anything. Maybe she was just a little testy because of...stuff, but it seemed that none of her usual stuff was where it was supposed to be in the kitchen, resulting in a hunt through the cabinets that resulted in a lot of clattering doors, slammed shelves, at least one smashed fingers, and a lot of things being removed, moved, and hastily returned before she found one of the many things she was looking for.
"Aaaurrrg!"
Oh, yeah. The occasionally howl of frustration, too. One or two (or five) of those as well.

Mostly she’d wanted an excuse to look through the cabinets and slam things, but someone else was already doing that, soooo.

"Hey, Rey," she said, sighing ever so slightly with exasperation. "You haven't seen any of my jello in here, have you? Not the plain stuff. I've found plenty of the plain stuff." She gestured to a small pile of it near the microwave. Why had she bought so much plain stuff? "But I want to do something...you know..." She grinned just a little, "more exciting. Like cherry. Or lime."

“No. I’ll help look,” she said, walking over to take the excuse to open a cabinet and slam it.
It didn’t help.

Summer started, but by the time she'd gotten that out, Rey had already opened and slammed that one. Did she even look inside before she slammed it shut? Who was she to judge someone else slamming cabinets? Especially a good slam like that.
Why did she have to keep thinking the word slam?
"Uh, thanks," she said instead. "I was just going to check the ones up there."

Look, it was a tough week, and it was only Monday.
“I’m sorry, what was that?”
no subject
"Is everything okay?"
Didn't BDG say there was something weird in the air yesterday? What in the world had she missed?
Sidenote: Rey? Kinda hot when she was frustrated...well, she was good-looking regardless, but Summer really couldn't help taking note of it just then for some reason.

Or any other kind of contact.
Even if the rest of her was arguing against that.
“It’s the second day of this stupid pollen thing and I’m done with it.”
no subject
"What stupid pollen thing?" Summer asked. "I wasn't here yesterday; guess I'm out of the loop..."
She wanted to be in the loop. Alllll the loops...
...
...what the fuck did that even mean? God, brain...

It occurred to her that Summer might be normal, and if so, she was going to scream.
no subject
"Oh. My. Godddddd.."
There it was.
"Ohmygod," she gushed now, face in a big grin as though this was the best news ever because, honestly, it kind of was. "So it's not just me, it's not just because I had to go and try to---"
Nope, Summer. Nope. Do not finish that statement.
"It's just something in the air. It's stupid pollen! I mean, of course it is, what else could it be, right?" Cue a slightly disturbing laugh of relief. "Ohmygod, Rey, I could just kiss you right now."
...
"But I won't," she added hastily, and then, less hastily, almost testing, she couldn't hold herself back from venturing, "I mean, unless...you'd..."
Yeah, she was just gonna let that hang there. She shouldn't be allowed to talk any more. She's already said about fifty things too much, probably.

Again, it was only Monday.

She cleared her throat.
"And I am...not helping. I should just go back to trying to find my jello..."
And she turned toward a cabinet and opened it up without even really looking.
no subject
For about four seconds, but still.
no subject
What? She literally could not help it right now.

Rey made a face.

But, just to make sure, she opened it again, slammed it as hard as she could, and had to bite her lip.
Yup. Slammed doors were now ruined for her, and it didn't even take much at all.
She. Was. Terrible...
