Second floor common rom- Wednesday afternoon
it's been a weird couple of weeks resulting in a bunch of thoughts Sabine didn't really want to dwell on, and the common room was trying to help her with that by giving her a project.
She hadn't even planned on watching TV. It'd just been on when she got here, and it'd been flipping through channels seemingly at random. She'd tried turning it off, but that hadn't worked, so she changed the batteries in the remote. That hadn't helped, so she tried playing with the cords in the back of the TV. That hadn't worked, so now she had pushed the TV out and was opening up the back to try and fix it.
...and now it was randomly playing music that she recognized as being in Spanish.
"Why are you like this?" Sabine asked it.
[Idk. Open!]

Nina had gotten hungry hanging out in her room, having run out of snacks and not wanting to steal Vette's, so hitting up the common room and finding yet another friend was pretty great.
"What are you doing??????????? Do you want ice cream???????????"
There had better be ice cream in that freezer.

Or, like, they could go to the ice creamery but that sounded like a lot more effort than common room raids somehow.
"Why are you making the TV different????????????"
no subject
Sabine sighed. "It's acting up, so I tried to fix it, and now everything I do makes something else happen."
no subject
"So, like, in theory if you do enough different things to it... eventually it should do what you want it to, even if the how doesn't make sense????????????"
This was why Nina was not going to be offering to help try and fix the TV.
Shaking her head at that mess, Nina reached the freezer and rummaged around in it.
"There's, like, half a scoop of vanilla left??????????" That was lame. So totally lame. "If they were going to leave that little they just should've finished it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Honestly, some people were so rude.
"There's also grape freezies, but those are nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
no subject
...Of course Sabine would think if vanilla as a canvas.

"I don't know," Nina said, frowning into the tub. "But, like, want to give it a ceremonious death??????????"
Like, they had to eat it, right? That was a necessity at this point.

"The sort that involves spoons and maybe moping that there's not more in this tub???????????"
A beat.
"Unless you really, like, want to pray over it?????????? Which… well, I would judge, but you could, if you like, really wanted to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
no subject
Sabine looked at the TV, decided she could deal with the music- honestly she kind of liked it- and got up. "I know for a fact there's syrup."
no subject
Nina shut the freezer, setting the tub on the counter as she dug out spoons.
"Should I get a bowl????????" she asked. "Or should it die in its natural habitat??????? That would mean less dishes to do…"

"So… chocolate is the dirt it gets buried in and strawberry is the blood it lost while dying???????????????????"
no subject
"Yes," she said, and set both syrups out.
no subject
It was going to be so good!
“Would you like to do the decorating?????”

There wasn't enough ice cream for the scene in her head, so she took a spoon and mashed it down, smoothing it into an even canvas and then drew several crude figures laying on the "ground", surrounded by pools of strawberry. The syrup to ice cream ratio was going to be very off.
"It's an interpretation," she said when she was done.
This was why people thought Mandalorians were weird, Sabine.

Nina peered at the scene.
"Is it, like, of any particular battle????????????? They fought hard."
And lost terribly, it looked like.
no subject
Also, actually, kind of a metaphor for home.
"The only way to respect those who fought is to eat what's left."
That part was not a metaphor.
no subject
"Well, then," Nina said, satisfied with that story. "Shall we?????????????? We really ought to respect them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
no subject
no subject
"Common room raid??????????????" she suggested, grinning. "Ceremoniously."
Like how she was going to eat her ice cream now.
no subject
Because why not. They were made of syrup.
no subject
"For their honour!!!!!!!!! And their people and their homelands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Since if they were going to be ridiculous it was best to go all in on it.
"Start with, like, the third floor and work up?????? Or work down instead, do you think?????????"
