Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [06/03].
Wayne was stubborn, especially when it came to things he didn't much care to think about, but, so help him, this waking up Monday morning and not really knowing what sort of place he'd be waking up in was starting to get to him a little bit, so he actually did twitch back a curtain before heading to the common room for a look outside, saw that everything looked normal again, and wondered if maybe some of all that from last week...and the week before...and the week before...was all just some sort of a fever dream or some bad eggs.
It didn't help, either, that when he did make it to the common room and checked the fridge, mostly expecting to find very little by way of appealing offerings and having to really push to make a decent breakfast out of it, he found all the stuff he remembered getting two Sundays ago that had disappeared last Monday. Which make him wonder if this Monday was actually last Monday, see: fever dream or perhaps some strange sort of other situation where the last week hadn't actually happened and he'd only thought it did.
But he still had a couple of cuts on his knuckles and probably that ruined shirt to prove otherwise.
Ah, well. If things were back to normal now....he would say he wouldn't look that gift horse in the mouth, but you knew Wayne was totally the sort of person that would inspect that gift horse's mouth so thoroughly, he might as well become a horse dentist.
But he was going to make breakfast, an actual breakfast with some real food, all the stuff for the omelettes and hashbrowns and sausage he was planning on making last Monday back and ready to be used. So he put on the coffee, got started on the cooking, and he supposed it would only be a matter of time before the girls started coming in.
Because tradition.

Guess who was a little excited today, Wayne? Guess!

When he was done wincing at that greeting, maybe. He might get used to that sort of thing eventually, but it didn't seem too terribly likeleh.
Still, nothing a little bit of squinting and nose wrinkling couldn't take care of, so Wayne took a moment to do just that before launching into his own brusque sort of greeting. "Nina! How are ya now?"
no subject
"I'm fantaaaaaaaaaastic!!!!!!!!!!!!" she bubbled, bouncing a bit. "How are you????????????"
no subject
"Ohhh," he answered in the usual drawl, "not so bad. Have a good birthday, did ya? Managed to surive your..." So much disapproval in just one long pause, but he was already fixing her up a plate with a little of everything he made, and it was already finished and being handed over to her by the time the pause was done stretching itself out "...detention?"

But what he did say, of course, was the usual "Oh, not so bad," followed dedicatedly with, "Fix you a plate?"

And Nina was maybe a little excited about it! A little!

"No idea. What's going on today?"

And it was so, so great! So great!

"...is this all for you?" he asked, because he wasn't entirely certain that it wasn't. Wayne seemed like a man with a healthy appetite.

Nina had maybe not been as proactive as she should have been in keeping up with her sibling, but hey, he was here now.
"Good mooooooooooooooooorning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
no subject
Admittedly, she had seemed pretty happy all the times they'd met up.

But still, Wayne couldn't help looking over at Okuyasu, lifting a brow, and, fully knowing that his roommate was a bit made of spare parts, saying, in a very dry and very serious tone that passed for Wayne SarcasmTM, "Yes. All of it. Just for me."
Of course, he knew that it was hard to detect sarcasm out of someone who pretty much spoke in the same tone whenever he opened his mouth, so he helpfully added, "Just clearly ignore all the other people in the room currently eating it right now."
But, since he didn't mean it in a mean way, he then offered, "Hungry, Okuyasu? I'll fix you up a plate."

"This'll get me all energized for my class."
He was really hoping this week he'd still avoid having to do an entire obstacle course.
"This definitely beats all the weird food that was around last week."
no subject
"And I'm not sure half that stuff last week should've ever been considered food..."
He made do, though, and, if he was honest, he was actually a little proud of what he had been able to scrounge together last week.

"Lana." Wayne offered a nod. "Breakfast is, in fact, about again. S'tradition. Not much to help with; cooking's mostly done, but an extra hand for the clean-up after's always welcome. How are ya now? Fix you up a plate?"
