Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [10/28].
Now what kind of buck futtery was all this, then?
Monday Morning Breakfast was going to be a bit later than usual today, because of course Wayne would have spent a good chuck of time when he first arrived in the common room trying to figgur out all that was wrong with the lights. It did start to become clear at some point, though, that, whatever it was, it was more'n likeleh just the island messin' with them as it had been pretty consistently for the last week, so Wayne, running out of logical solutions to an illogical problem anywhey, just said fuck it and got to cooking by candlelight, because everything else was working and then there was the fact that he'd opened a drawer to find nothing but tapered candles just waiting to be lit.
Gave the whole place a certain atmosphere, that was fer sure, especially when you considered all the scurrying in the shadows and especially if you considered that the scurrying today sounded quite a bit different than the usual scurrying of squirrels he'd gotten quite a bit used to.

Maybe not exactly the two he'd choose, but the two he'd choose weren't exactly polite.
"Sabine," he said, determining his best guess was good enough and putting the pancake out of the pan and onto a stack before going to pour another one. "How are ya now?"

"Gooooooooooooooooooood morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Owen, like, had said she was angelic before.
So today she was, quite literally, halo'd in soft golden light.

Though, really, while she was doing okay, she was considering the fact that it might, like, behoove her to find Prompto later in the day because⦠yeah. She knew he hated the dark.

"Oh," Wayne drawled, squinting a little at some of what he hadn't been able to see as well until Nina drifted over, and nodded, satisfied that even without sufficient light, he hadn't been making too much of a mess and everything seemed just fine and in order. "Not so bad. Fix you a plate?"

"Good morning, everyone," she started in with her own standard greeting. "I've brought tea, of course, if anyone wants any..."
She wasn't entirely sure which tea it was, and she'd wasted enough of it attempting to make it that she felt a little depressed about it, but there was still tea, and that's what mattered, flask in one hand, bright glow of her phone in the other.

"Tisarwat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said happily, her beaming halo matching her smile. "I'd love tea, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

(Which said a lot, coming from a Radchaai).
"Nina!" she said, laughing a little with delight as she handed the cup over. "You're glowing!"
no subject
How would she have gotten her hair done?
"What a lovely cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, examining it with delight.

"Tisarwat," he added, "how are ya now?"

"I'm doing well, thank you," she said, filling it up and offering a slight smile. "Do you might making a plate for me this morning?"
She knew she didn't have to specify, by now, that that meant him putting on some gloves while he made her batches of food.

On the one hand, he was starting to feel that anytime anything went wrong, he could just chalk it up to the island, but, on the other hand, he knew that if it hadn't been the island and he'd managed to fix it, well...then...that'd feel pretty nice, right there.

"And no need to go underfed, as there's still breakfast," he added, importantly, before launching into a good old, "Okuyasu. How are ya now?"
Even though they, you know, lived together and had been in the same room probably not even an hour ago.

Not that it had stopped her from wreathing herself with a halo of golden light so that she wasn't stuck in the dark, mind, but.
She liked those stories.
"Hi, Okuyaaaaaaaaaasuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How are you?????????????????"

She took a sip of the tea, and smiled when she lowered the cup again. "Good morning, Okuyasu. How are you?"

He rubbed his hands together a bit. "And you? How are you doing?
