Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [11/04].
Well. Let's see.
All the food Wayne had picked up for breakfast in the morning was present and accounted for. The milk was the right color (for Earth, anywhey), there was no blood in the coffee (fake or otherwise), the lights worked, the stove worked, the only critters that seemed to need being accounted fer were the usual radio squirrels...
Looks like it was a fine day for breakfast, one without anything too squirrelly goin' on, and so that put Wayne in a pretty good mood and maybe even made him a little hopeful for a nice, quiet sort of week after all the Halloween nonsense. Even if it did mean all his classmates would wind up just bored and needing to explore other parts of the dorms, he was absolutely fine with just a nice normal morning with some nice normal breakfast, and he'd preferred it that way, too.
It'd be nice if the rest of the breakfasts for at least this month could be that way, but Wayne defintiely wasn't bettin' the farm on it.

He nodded at her dutifully. "Fix you up a plate?"

She took a big bite of her donut and then a long sip of her coffee. "I'm sure it's good too. What's up with you..."
Had they met? If they had Eleanor had promptly forgotten her name. Even though they had class together.
"multi-colored hair girl."
Yes. That's totally a name.

One that died very quickly, and Tisarwat shook her head and focused back on her plate filled with foods requiring (well, honestly, around here, she wouldn't be surprised if someone did eat eggs and pancakes with their fingers!) utensils and generally trying not to pay attention to Eleanor, lest she be completely put off her appetite.

Damn. She really needed to learn people's names some day.
"-how's it going?" she said as she noticed that the glazed doughnut had left a bunch of sticky sugary mess all over her two fingers. Not wanting to waste a napkin she licked her fingers clean before picking up another doughnut.
Sorry Tisarwat. Well, Eleanor isn't but the mun is.

Tisarwat sighed, vowing that she needed to be better about just blatantly ignoring some things, but, hey, when someone came into a room with a box of things, you couldn't help being intrigued for at least a moment, but that was all that was needed to spark an interaction. And even though Eleanor was being the epitome of rude right now, Tisarwat found it difficult to be rude back by just ignoring her.
She'd just keep her eyes dedicatedly on her own plate and her tea.
"Not bad," she said into her cup. "You? How's, erm...your breakfast?"
Besides messy and uncivilized.

and a thread likely to dropped as soon as work starts to eat meall the more appreciated. Especially now that Wayne had started making at least her plate while wearing gloves, too. And, just as expected and just as ritualistic, she camed into the common room with the usual greeting. "Good morning! Would anyone like some tea?"
And, just as expected and just as ritualistic, she was already prepared to meet Wayne's mug with just the little bit of coffee still left in it to pour him some from her flask.

"I'd have some tea," he declared, as usual, following it up with the just as expected and just as ritualistic, "Tisarwat. How are ya now?"
Because you just didnt' fuck with tradition and, weird as she was, Tisarwat seemed to at least appreciate that.

"Nothing getting in the way of a good breakfast today, I hope," Okuyasu declared with a smile. "No... yokai or yurei haunting the place or making the pancakes into man-cakes or anything like that."
no subject
He shoulda known the morning was going just a little bit too well.
He let out a small, disgruntled growl at this shift in the mood, and then regarded his roommate, already reaching for a plate to start filling up.
"What the fuck," he started, "is a yokai or yurei?" Then he considered the context. "That some kind of ghost?"
If it was, there better not be any around, because Halloween was over, and, in Wayne's worldview, that meant ghosts should be over, too.

"I figured things seemed pretty normal this morning. Nothing crazy or... bizarre."
no subject
And speaking of breakfast, there was a plate, being passed over Okuyasu's way if he wanted with a nod.
Just filling up plates by now just seemed to be more efficient.

"Oh!" she remarked, lilac-eyes widening with interest. "Okuyasu, you have new pins!"
Well, perhaps pins wasn't the best word for it, but they were gemmed like Radchaai pins would be. Pretty as they were, and now she couldn't help wondering if they had special significance where he was from like they did in the Radch. She hoped it didn't mean bad news for him...

"Well," she said with a smile, "they're beautiful. And they suit you very well."
