3rd Floor Common Room, Monday Morning
Nina had dithered that morning.
Like, maybe, just maybe if she put it off for a bit, Wayne would show up and it would be like normal and—
Ugh.
Stealing the common room, stealing breakfast, was no fun when there was no one on the island to steal it from…
But, like, still. It was tradition.
And, really, Nina needed to eat breakfast anyway…
So she turned the radio on to jingle-y carols about a holiday she was sort of hit-or-miss about the meaning of and, in the name of breakfast, in the name of Wayne, in the name of she was hungry…
She was making breakfast.
And if that breakfast was leaning heavily towards French toast, yogurt, and fruit, rather than pancakes and sausages and eggs, well… so there, Wayne.
[Open breakfast is open!]

"Oh!" he said, pleasantly surprised to see Nina in the common room already. "I... I guess we had the same idea."
He went to set down the bags. It really was a tradition.

It… it really was tradition.
"Oh my gosh, though, like I'm sorry I stole your idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She was not super sorry about it though. In fact, the fact that she'd stolen it from someone made her happier.

"I'm just glad we're keeping things happening. I think he'd like that."

postbreakfast next week," she said brightly. "And, like, I hope he'd like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But if he found out he'd probably be all squiiiiiiiiiiiiint and 'of course it kept happening, it's tradition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"A beat.
"Fix you up a plate????????????"
no subject
He folded his hands and leaned back against a counter. "It's very nice of you to do, too. How've you been? Classes end up okay?"
no subject
As she put it together, she considered his questions.
"I've been, like, okay??????????????" she said, which was a muted sort of response for Nina but, really, between Prompto haring off and Vette barely being around, she was a bit down. "Classes have been pretty good!!!!!!!!!!!! Miss Kitty's computer class is always interesting and Miss Verity and Liam's class is hilarious, while Bus Dean is always the best."
Nina was a little biased. Bus Dean was her favourite teacher.
"Ta-dah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, presenting him with his plate. "There's syrup if you want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some people eat French Toast with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Because it was delicious that way.

Big, butch man saying 'tummy' was always a little odd, but that was Okuyasu for you.
"...there's a teacher named Bus here?"
Throwing stones about that was a bit of hypocrisy when your name was 'Billions Rainbow-Village'.

But, like, he answered to Bus Dean at this point, so…

"I always feel like he's testing us but not about school stuff, but real life things. Like how we react and treat people."
He stated this fairly basic observation like he had made a very deep insight into it all.

At least she was still cute.
"Morning."

Her own hat was set at a jaunty angle over her curls and Nina had, like, given up on making it go away and was now rolling with it.
Her smile faded a notch as she noticed that Sabine was looking grumpy. "Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabiiiiiiiiiiiiiiineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, what's wrong?????????????????!"

"Can you really tell if you have hat hair when your hat keeps coming back???????????????" she asked whimsically. "And thank you, how it looks now totally does not encompass the dismay I felt upon discovering it."

Because Nina wasn't going to clash, no. Her forest green skirt and cream-coloured blouse were nice and all, but not what she'd planned on wearing…

"Yes," she said, having to smile, as she put together a plate for Sabine, "but what will tomorrow bring?????????????????"

"Are we talking, like, great looking like the porgs??????????????????????????" she ventured, after a moment of trying to put Sabine's description into 'great'. "Or, like, more like, the gremlins………….."
Because 'great' could go so many ways.

"They have character."
no subject
"...wait when did I put that on?" he said. This is the work of an enemy Stand ran through his head, like it did every time Fandom weirdness happened.

"Is it going to bite me?" he asked, before touching the hat. He really didn't want to lose a digit to a fight with a hat.

"...what."
He did it again, then again.
"...do you think we could box up all these extra hats and sell them for profit?"
