Had Nina planned on having a party when she'd woken up that morning?

Nnnnnnnnnnnope!

But, like, really when the gremlins had burst into her room that morning to carol at her about some harking herald singing or something like that, Nina had a) hid under her blankets and made a despairing noise because ladies were supposed to be woken by soulful serenading and not… that… and b) had started pondering ways to use this since it was clearly the method of madness that the island was going with today.

Hence. A party! Then all she'd needed was a theme, to really tie it all together, and the island did tend to lend itself to a certain direction…………… so, like, some frantic Googling (she loved the internet), some tromping about in the snow being trailed by gremlin carolers as she bought things and then, by evening, she had it all ready to go.

Okay, SO LIKE, we've got carolers, we've got (courtesy of me) hot drinks, bonbons, and various other possibly holiday related foodstuffs, and I've got SO MANY decorations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That means it's time for a party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When? Where? Right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the second floor common room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come one, come all, or else you SUPER> don't get to complain at what your common areas are going to look like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only participants gets a say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, cool. Email sent out! Now to see if anyone else was willing to help her do this or if the rest of the dorms would just be subjected to her idea of holiday decorating! Mwahaha!

And, in the corner, on the impromptu stage she'd set up for them, the caroling gremlins sang their little hearts out.

"Oh my gosh, right??????????????? Like, it doesn't even exist back home!!!!!!!!!!! I love glitter!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Nina considered that.

Then laughed.

"But, like, not as much as gel pens............ really, like, I think those are my favourite............."

"Gel pens?" Nell asked cautiously. "I've never heard of those. Are they like, squishy?"

She shook her head, rummaging through her decorating supplies before coming out with a pack of holiday gel pens in glittery green, red, silver, and gold.

"No, see???????????????" she said, showing the pens to Nell. "They're called gel pens because the ink they use is less watery than normal ink????????????? So they don't wash off of things as easily and you can use them to write on things that normal pens would have a hard time being visible on--like black paper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"And they're all glittery, too?" Nell was nearly speechless at the amount of things that could glitter. "I ain't seen nothing like any of this."

"Ohmygosh, Nell," Nina said, dropping her voice to a scandalized whisper. "They even make glittery underthings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Which Nina had gaped at in horror and avoided like the plague. Nina was a lady and some things just... no.

"But, no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See, here," she continued, in a more normal tone of voice as she dug a gel pen out of her pocket. "See, this one isn't glittery at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It was a lovely shade of teal though.

Nina had a bit of a gel pen obsession.

Nell blushed bright red at the mention of underthings. "Nina..."

Glittery... oh heavens. Nell couldn't even think about anything so shocking.

Oooh... that blue was indeed a beautiful color. "I think I see why you like these so much. They're very pretty."

Nina was a bit pink herself.

"They are!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, like, they don't run as easily either, so if you spill something on a page, you're not as likely to wind up with a smeared mess of your work............. "

"Huh. I can see where that would be useful." Nell considered for a moment. "Maybe I could get me some for to make labels for the teas and lotions I've been making. These'uns would sure make them prettier."

"If you'd like you could borrow some of my pens to see if you like writing with them??????????????????" Nina offered. "Like, that way you wouldn't spend money until you were for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Iff'n you don't mind, I'd like that," Nell said. She smiled at Nina. "I can try 'em out on the teas and lotion I made for you."

Nina's eyes went big.

"You made me teas and lotions????????????" she gasped, delighted.

"Oh gosh, I prob'ly shouldn't have said," Nell said, blushing. "But yep. You'un and some of the others who've been so kind to me. For Christmas?"
