Third Floor Common Room; Saturday Evening [12/28].
Wayne fucking loved Christmas, there was no doubt about that, and, by the time he'd finished with everything back at the farm, there was hardly any time left before Christmas, and it didn't make a whole lot of sense to go back to school for maybe two whole fucking classes and then go right on back to Letterkenny for Christmas, so he'd pert'near decided to just stay put for a while. But now that Christmas and Boxing Day was out of the way, it looked like he was heading on back finally.
And straight into an Impromptu (but not really, since he'd been planning it, just didn't tell anyone) Belated Christmas Party.
Look. He had gifts for everyone, you see, and giving out gifts during a Christmas party was tradition, and everyone knew how Wayne felt about tradition. Even if it was December 28th. But fuck all if Fandom ever really cared about things like proper dates and reality and what-have-you in the first place.
He may have even sent out a few messages. He may have also sent squirrels out to alert people, feeling like a real fuckin' Disney princess over here, and then he got things set up, which mostly just involved food and stuff for Christmas drinks (classy ones, though, gotta keep it classy until midnight, when it would be time for the Three Wisemen), Christmas movies on rotation on the TV, and Wayne, set off to the side in an armchair with a small little Christmas tree sitting on a table beside him (because a tree was tradition), ready to dole out gifts.
He made sure the first gift went out to Prompto, though, because while he really didn't care too much for the weird skid kid, he was still a friend and Nina's brother now, apparentleh, so he got a gift, and an important one for the night, too. Prompto was no Bonnie McMurray, but he was a good photographer, so Wayne could entrust in him a disposable camera to keep all the memories of the night.
If the guy would ever stop gushing over the fact that Wayne had even gotten him anything and was giving him such an important task, to the point where Wayne just had to interrupt with a very firm, "Well, pitter-patter," and told Prompto to just send the next person over already.
It probably wouldn't be the best fucking Christmas ever, but it was still probably going to be a pretty darn good one.
[[ impromptu (but not really because I've been mostly planning this for weeks now) belated christmas party OCD ison the way up! Let's get at 'er! Up stupid early because I have to be at work stupid early, and a little SP more'n likeleh because of said stupid work, buuuuut I haaaaad to have Wayne do his Christmas gift thing! ]]

Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
Bonnie McMurrayphoto-taker and present-wrangler very seriously, which meant he was spending a good deal of the party just bopping around, snapping shots and making sure no one fell through the gift-giving cracks.Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
She wasn't really a Christmas party and your holidays were confusing but why not.
Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
Look. He was taking his job as
Bonnie McMurrayas Party Photography very seriously, okay? He couldn't let the Waynester down! No, really, he couldn't. He was, like, constantly on thin ice with that dude, it seemed.

If she couldn't be hibernating, a Wayne party was probably the next best thing anyway.
Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
Which meant Pictures!
Hey, he was taking his assignment very seriously, and that disposable camera Wayne had gotten him was now being aimed straight for Mae.
"Say 'Wookiee'!"

Which wasn't really too surprising, considering, but it was very thoughtful of him, and, if Tisarwat were the gambling type, she'd easily put money down on it being something related to gloves or tea, but, then again, it didn't take much for anyone who spent time with a Radchaai to figure that out.
Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
So sue Nina, she was surprised!
[And on the most SP of SPs today!]
Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
And he fucking loved Christmas, Nina, okay?
Re: Arrive and Mingle - 12/28.
Food and Drinks - 12/28.
There were also three bottles of whiskey--American, Irish, and Canadian rye--that weren't to touched until midnight, so just try'n keep it classy until then.
Get Gifts from Wayne - 12/28.
[[ canonically, Wayne gets gifts for literally everyone at the party, even people he hates, because TRADITION, so seriously, come one, come all, challenge me to think of Wayne might get someone he's besties with as well as someone he's talked to maybe twice]]
Re: Get Gifts from Wayne - 12/28.
It seemed like the sort of thing he'd do.
Re: Get Gifts from Wayne - 12/28.
"I just got it fer half-off at the T&C," he said, which didn't sound nearly as rugged or impressive, but it was much more truthful, and then he looked back at Mae and nodded.
"Mae," he said," how are ya now?"

"S'good to be back!" said Wayne, and, wouldn't you know it? He actually did mean it, too. Maybe that was just the trick to Fandom. Take a good long break from it every once in a while, and it turns out you'd be willin' and rarin' to get right back into it before too long.
Then he nodded. "Sabine. How are ya now?"

She had brought Wayne some food from home she hoped he'd enjoy - blue milk, purple eggs, and peppered sleen.
Re: Get Gifts from Wayne - 12/28.
He said that now, of course, not knowing yet what it is, but it would be what he deserved, really, considering the book she'd be receiving from him soon enough.
And the cow, which he thought was hilarious enough that it'd gotten a sensible chuckle out of him when he'd hunted it down.
"Way'ya go," he said, as he fished out the plaid-wrapped presents for her and handed them over with a nod. "Merry Christmas, Lana."

...now let's all have a spit.
Re: Three Wise Men - 12/28.
"Oh, gods, is it supposed to burn like that?" he managed to cough out at the end, rubbing his chest a little.
Why couldn't they just stick to the beer with the cute doggo on it??

There was another slight pause before he offered up, just in case, "It's rye."

I've also been looking forward to doing Wayne's Christmas thing pretty much since I apped him.
Again, a little SP from me for a bit due to work, blarg, but yay for Letterkenny Christmas!
