Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [01/06].
Three things!
Number A: There was a flock of new students on a shuttle bus that never arrived.
Number B: There were also a handful of people that went missing all around the island.
Number C: It was Monday.
Conclusion! There would still be Monday Morning Breakfast, because it was tradition, and Wayne hadn't been one of the people to disappear, and it just made sense to make sure that no one was out there, trying to find out about why so many people were missing on an empty stomach, if it could be helped.
After all, it looked like all the things for pancakes and eggs and bacons were plenty present and accounted for!
[[ i actually almost forgot about Monday morning breakfast today! But it's open! ]]

But seeing that breakfast existed, still, was nice.
"Good morning," she said, with a definite note of sulk in her voice as she drifted in.

"Nina," Wayne nodded, lacking his own usual cheerfulness* for something a bit more determined, "how are ya now?"
_______
*Which was a thing, but a subtle one.

Nina was set rather firmly on 'it's not faaaaaaaair'.

But then there was a pause. A substantial pause. And significant squinting.
"....maligned," he finished, and his voice seemed to swing up a pitch, as he flipped a pancake, "but y'wanna what? I am feeling pretty P.O.'d that someone'd wanna come all up in here and fuck with tradition! You just don't do that, Nina. You don't fuck with tradition!"

Wayne ranting.
"I know," she said crossly, "but someone is and we're going to stop them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially since they've ruined tradition and my class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"So they've gone and they'd fucked with tradition," he said, flipping a pancake, "and yer class," another flip, which did sort of defeat the purpose of the first one, except it just making him feel a bit better, "and then they went runnin' around kidnapping people, which is just rude, and, lemme tell you, Nina, soon as we get this whole mess sorted out, I think I might have to go an' give 'em a piece of my mind!"
He flipped the pancake again, and seemed to come down, just a little.
"After breakfast, though," he decided with a nod. "S'most important meal of the day, after all."
