Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [01/20].
Well, pitter-patter! Looked like they had at least another normal week come and gone and so far things looked good on this one, too, and that was something that Wayne could really appreciate, as he headed down to the common room to get started on breakfast, checking the fridge, seeing everything that should be there present and accounted for, right as rain.
It was these kinds of mornings that put Wayne in a good mood, because he would always be a sucker for thinging running all proper and the way they were exposed to, but, of course, he'd been here long enough to treat it with some sort of trepidation and expectation that something was about to go sideways, and he didn't know how, but he'd reluctantly be ready fer it if it did.
But for now? Breakfast. Like normal. As you do.
Let's get at 'er.
[[ and open breakfast is open, if a bit uninspired! ]]

"Gooooooooooooooood moooooooooooooorning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Sure, like, Nina had about a million things to do before her class today…
But breakfast was Important.

But, yes, Breakfast was Important. Wayne might go so far as to say (and say it often) that it was the Most Important. And, in Nina's particular case, it might even serve as inspiration.
(Not that she needed it, clearleh).
"Nina!" Wayne greeted her with Wayne-style cheerfulness and a flip of a pancake. "How are ya now?"
no subject
"Busy, busy, busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she sang, with the sort of energy that said, yes, she was busy but she welcomed it. "I won't, like, be able to stick around long today—I've got loads to do before this evening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, like, how are you?????????????????"
no subject
He had already gotten it about halfway fixed at that point.
"This evening's yer class, isn't it?" he asked. "Need any help?"
no subject
"Yes, please," she said primly. "And, like, I don't think I can get any help for this, though your offer's really kind?????????????????????? I've got to do it myself………………"
no subject
But, then again, when was Nina ever not at least just a little bit fruity-loops, anyhow?
"Well," Wayne stated, handing the plate over with a nod, "offer'll stay on the table, if you change yer mind. What've you got planned fer today?"
Asking Nina about her class seemed like a very risky venture, but the same could be said about asking Nina about pert'near anything, realleh.

"Oh, today's going to be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said enthusiastically, with a smiled thanks for the plate of food even as she drifted over to get a glass of orange juice to complete it. "Like, today the quest starts in earnest and the compatriots must search for clues as to where the prince has gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And if that sounded like something that wasn't going to work in a normal classroom, well. Yes.
That was why she was headed there right after she ate.
no subject
"Clues?" he asked, getting started on the next batch of pancakes. "You settin' it up like some sort of scavenger hunt? Something like that?"
no subject
"I mean, like, while I know the main story, how they get about it is up to them," she said, all big eyes. "So they've got to work for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And, please, as if Nina would let it just be a tabletop game.
"So, like, I'm going to drop them in the world of the quest and let them follow the clues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
And then she was going to sleep all the sleep.

"No," she said, rather sulkily. "That doesn't, like, encompass the true nature of the quest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Prompto would understand!
no subject
But still, since he was very much Wayne, he had to ask, "Oh, yeah? How's that, now? What's this all-encompassing true nature of it all that I'm missin' here, Nina, huh?"

"Shuri," Wayne said, and there was a hint of a grin in that nod for someone who knew where to look fer it. "How are ya now?"

And, sure, there were only three, and he could use deductive reasoning and make a pretty good guess with those odds, but where was the fun in that?
"I'm pert'near free 'til Wednesday, myself," he added, "'cept the junkyard tomorrow."
Which he still wasn't sure if he was even technically employed there anymore, but he liked the work, so he was just going to keep on doing it.
