2nd Floor Common Room | Friday All Day

It was… probably best not to ask too many questions about how early Nina had to have gotten up to get all the chalk drawings done in the common room.

She was not even sorry that her magic meant there was, like, a single person's width of a line to the kitchen (which she'd left un-chalked so that people could eat) and one couch untouched and that she'd commandeered everything else for filming. Look, it had been awhile and she'd finally finished the spells necessary to film the next season of Sir Foomy's adventures.

"Alright, Foomy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said enthusiastically as she triggered the magic, which left the chalk dissipating and—well, it didn't look exciting from the outside, since it was just a large grey cave taking up most of the common room with an entrance that was precisely double the size of Foomy. She knelt down to adjust Foomy's costume. "You remember your lines, right????????????????"

With beebles that were just as excited as she was, Foomy agreed that he did, yes.

"And you, like, look super dashing," Nina decided. The tiny musketeer hat was adorable and well worth all the times she'd stabbed herself with a needle to get it just right. His matching cape was embroidered with gold thread. "Remember, okay?????????????? You are Sir Foomy and this is going to be excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Foomy burbled agreement.

"Get on in there, then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let the filming begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Foomy made his way over to the cave entrance as Nina re-checked her camera set up and triggered yet another spell, this one taking up the wall and turning it into a screen that showed what Foomy was doing.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand lights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cameras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

They were, quite literally, going to be here all day.

[Open as a common room ought to be, naturally!]

Astrid was coming back from shop class, sort of fingering the little wooden oleander she had whittled, feeling a little disraught over her lack of imagination that it was the only thing she could think of to actually do. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either, since wood wasn't really a medium she had a lot of experience in, and she was wondering if she could find stuff to make herself something else instead before whatever they were doing next week, when she passed by the common room on her way to her own room, paused, and then went back for a closer look.

And blinked.

"Nina," she said, almost as if she feared what the answer was going to be, "what is all this?"

And her little strange blob friend was here, too! She hadn't been doing much work in her room lately, so she'd sort of actually missed the little guy.

"Sir Foomy?" Astrid and her work-dead detail messing up brain asked, tilting her head with intrigue at the screen, while moving closer to try and see what Nina was actually doing. Was that her little friend's name? And he was apparantly the star of some how Nina was filming? "What channel?"

"I...had a YouTube channel once," Astrid mused, almost mildly, distantly, as she sometimes did when talking about that Other Astrid that felt like she belonged to a completely different world.

But she smiled, considering her little friend doing all those things. "That sounds like a great story, though. I bet...Foomy's a really good actor, too."

It was weird that he had a name now, though, if she was honest.

Astrid might have been a little distracted by the action on the screen (although she had confidence that Foomy would be fine, and she'd have to compliment him on his excellent fighting skills), but she gave Nina a faint, wry smile.

"Have you ever had any of Captain Rogers' classes before?" she asked.

Astrid nodded slightly. "Mr. Stark, right? Well, I took a few of their classes..." She shifted, tucking her hair behind her ears, "before, and sometimes, Captain Rogers would play these PSAs, these Public Service Announcements, that he did as this character, Captain America. And then...." There was a pause, a furrowed brow, as pieces started filling in some of the gaps in those shoved-aside memories, "...I think there was a summer activity where we made sock puppets. I decided to make a Captain America one." It was impossible to hold back a grin at that. "And make some new PSAs for him...."

"It was called 'Captain America Puppet PSAs,'" said Astrid, who really did feel things like that meant her mother had a good point when she said that she lacked in imagination and creativity, despite the content of the videos themselves proving otherwise, and grinning a little despite herself. "It was a while ago, though."

And she didn't understand the Internet enough to realize that it didn't matter, those things were now eternal.

"They're still there?" asked Astrid, who wasn't maybe as surprised as the question might have suggested, but emphasizing that was easier than dealing with the sudden blank look on her face as she tried to figure out how to deal with the compliment. She shrunk into her shoulders a little, tucked her hair behind her ears.

And slightly more embarrassing: "And you've seen them?"

"I went back home," Astrid shrugged as if it hadn't been a big deal. "YouTube didn't exist yet."

The pause that followed was a bit awkward.

"I did take the puppet around to different popular places in Hollywood, though, and sent the Poloroids to Captain Rogers."

And then she just...stopped.

"Not quite the same, but i think he appreciated them."
