Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [08/31].
Wayne didn't get a chance to chat with many of the newbies on picnic day, meaning he didn't have many chances to let them know about Monday Morning Breakfast, but, hopefulleh, the breakfast would take care of letting them know itself through the power that was cooking aromas working its way through this school's odd kind of ventilation system. Or word would get around somehow. Or he'd just have a lot of leftovers for the week, and that was okay, too, though not exactly optimal.
Honestly, though, by Monday morning (though a bit of a later start than usual since he wound up with a class first period; that was hardly going to stop breakfast, though!), he was mostleh just feeling glad that, when he came into the common room, all the stuff he'd gotten for it was there and just the way he'd left them, there wasn't anything weird going on with any of the equipments or cupboards or dishes, no abundance of weird ingredients, no lurking gremlins, no nothing out of the ordinary....which was a little out of the ordinary, but Wayne, who was about 95% sure this island was going to try and fuck up the first Monday Morning Breakfast of a new semester, was not going to complain!
...not about that, anywhey!

"S'up, Miles?" he asked with a lift of his chin to the guy. "How's it going?"
It would be kind of interesting to see if his brain had managed to get a wrinkled as Troy's own since they last talked before the bus here.

"I knew I smelled food!" he declared proudly, honestly just glad that it was actually there and not just a figment of all his hopes and desires getting all up in his brain.

[Now posted in the right place. I hope.]

Was she kind of staring at Wayne sadly due to one of her many unresolved childhood traumas leading to issues with asking for food? Also, yes!

Wayne had a pretty healthy appetite, sure, but not that healthy.
So he looked over and gave the girl a nod. "Mornin'," he said. "How are ya now? Fix you up a plate?"
Look, if a greeting weren't broken, don't fix it.

"Good morning!" Elli said brightly as she wandered into the common room.

"Elli!" He gave her the brusqueness of a Wayne-style cheerful greeting. "How are ya now?"

"Wayne!" she said cheerfully, flopping down on the couch, resting her crutch on the edge. "It's so good to see you."
She probably looked a little different than the last time they'd spoken: hair a little shorter, muscles a little more defined... and also her left leg was now missing from just above the knee.
[ooc: okay, so I'm off to work shortly, so it'll be SP, but did I wake up early specifically so I'd have time to ping in here? YOU BET.]

And, well, he wasn't the type to really notice something like the length of a girl's hair that much, and he certainly wasn't in the habit of noticin' muscles on girls that weren't the one he was dating, but even he could notice the crutch and the assumed reason fer it, so when his "How are ya now?" came out, it was significantly more uncertain and concerned that it may have typically been.
And it'd be interesting if he actually got a 'good'n'you' back fer that one.

But, hey, she no longer burst into tears at the sight of Camden and that was progress even though she remained uneasy about the whole mountain lion thing.
... She was probably never going to get entirely past that.
"Goddess!" Elli said, as she noticed the other important thing. "What happened?!"
And then her brain caught up with her mouth and she flushed.
"That is, I mean, if you're willing to, I--"
She was just going to shut up and study her plate now, yes.

"Shuri." And he was skipping the plate fer now and going right for handing her a mug of coffee first. "How are ya now?"

She'd leave the food question for Wayne, not wanting to over-step.
