Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [09/21].

Probably not surprising anyone fer this week, considering the weekend, Wayne came into the common room that morning fer Monday Morning Breakfast to find the fridge was particularly well-stocked with sauerkraut and bratwurst, and, not one to let things like that just go to waste, added a frittata and some hash to the usual offerings and expected pancakes.

And he weren't going to even say nothing about it, either, because, as far as weird things to happen on a Monday morning, that barely even registered as one, so it seemed a bit...silly to go and make a fuss.

Elli laughed.

"You wanted breakfast that much?" she asked, lightly teasing. "I'm doing well, thank you! It's another lovely Monday."

The light teasing brought a faint laugh out of Troy, his grin broadening a little. "It's good breakfast!" he said with amused defensiveness. He couldn't survive on sugar cereal alone (not that he wouldn't have tried!). "I think it's too early to tell about if it's a good Monday, though, but I hope so! They're usually pretty good around here."

Not having any classes except one about superheroes definitely helped!

That would definitely help!

"It is a good breakfast," Elli admitted, with another light laugh. "And I find that deciding it will be a good day usually helps make it so. Are you busy today?"

Was anyone ever really busy around here?

"Nah," Troy shook his head easily, with a shrug. "I'll probably go back to sleep once I'm done, but only for a little bit, because I've got superheroing class later. And then, I don't know, maybe I'll watch some TV or something? Shoot some hoops. Try to find out where those squirrels get all those little tiny hats..."

There was really no shortage of things for Troy to find to entertain himself with around here, really.

"What about you?"

"A friend will be calling me in about an hour," Elli said, smiling. "So we're going to see if she can come for Parent's Weekend, since my parents are out of town and won't be able to make it. After that, I thought I'd go into town and pick up a few things. I need a new pair of gloves and it will be getting colder soon..."

"Yeahhhh," Troy said, "my parents aren't coming to that, either," and he was very relieved about that, "because they'd have to bring my Nana and they don't want her traveling that far. But I'm cool with it. We're pretty close knit, so it's kind of nice to get some space and breathing room around here, you know?"

"It's true," she admitted. "Though it can be lonely sometimes too..."

Troy considered that and couldn't relate to it as much, because he sort of liked those aspects of it. Sure, he missed being surrounded by people because he was so popular at his old school, but maybe that's why he also enjoyed that there weren't so many people here.

"Having a roommate kinda helps with that," he reasoned, "and the fact that no one's really ever that far away. If you feel lonely, you can just go down the hall or something and see who's around. Everyone here seems pretty cool so far, anyway. It's just really...chill."

"It's got more people than my home does," Elli said. "But everyone's so much more spread out somehow? It feels quieter, maybe because we're all not as busy as we are at home."

"Everyone does sort of seem to have a lot of their own stuff going on sometimes, too," Troy observed. "And not having as many classes is nice, but you definitely miss seeing people for, like, seven hours of school like we'd have back home. Plus football practice. I don't know. I guess I was just sort of around people so much that this is just a nice change of pace. It's a lot less...pressure."
