Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [09/21].

Probably not surprising anyone fer this week, considering the weekend, Wayne came into the common room that morning fer Monday Morning Breakfast to find the fridge was particularly well-stocked with sauerkraut and bratwurst, and, not one to let things like that just go to waste, added a frittata and some hash to the usual offerings and expected pancakes.

And he weren't going to even say nothing about it, either, because, as far as weird things to happen on a Monday morning, that barely even registered as one, so it seemed a bit...silly to go and make a fuss.

"Then I look forward to meetin' a friend or two of yours if they manage to make it, too, Elli," Wayne said with a nod, and he meant it, since Elli seemed to come from a place a bit more his speed, and he'd imagined a lot of Elli's friends were just as nice and...familiar, in away...as she was.

It was true. There was a certain kind of similarity between all of them that was very comforting.

"Yes," she said happily. "I hope they can. Everyone's lovely here but that's not the same as them being from home, you know?"

"Can confirm!" Wayne agreed heartily, with a nod. "I'm lucky, that I can still head on up to the farm pretty quick when I'm needed to, but everyone's got a good handle on things up there, I should think. Only thing I miss most is my dogs..."

There was a bit of a trail off there, as Wayne's brow squinted a little with a thought, telling himself to remember to text Katy about mebbe bringin' Gus up with her for the weekend, too, although it might be a bit much for him to be travelin' that far.

"Couldn't you have a dog here?" Elli asked, after a moment. "They don't seem to have any restrictions on pets..."

"Could," Wayne agreed with a nod and a stern sort of frown. "Thought about it a couple times, but the dogs're used to the farm, where there's plenty of space to just run around and be dogs, and it wouldn't be far to 'em to drag 'em all the way here. Especially old Gus, he's gettin' up in years, so he should be able to enjoy his golden years back home. I help out with the pups down at the shelter, though, so that helps scratch that itch well enoug, and just makes me appreciate it more when I do get on up to see 'em."
