Second floor common room- Saturday morning

Alexis had no idea why she had a peacock. And there'd maybe been a little shrieking at having a bird in her room when she woke up, but it'd been short, because as it turned out Preston was pretty cool, and chill.

Which was why they were hanging out in the common room watching whatever was on E! and snarking.

Totally normal scene here, folks.

"Shiny things really are amazing. So are football players." She figured she'd end up dating at least a couple NFL players, get blamed for their losses, and then move on to musicians. "So... why is his name Annie's Boobs?"

"You know," said Troy, who was taking that as a good enough reason to go ahead and sit down and sort of lounge with the cool aloofness that needed to accopany such a statement, "I played football at my old school..."

In case she didn't know. He did tell a lot of people, though, so it might have gone around, but it was clearly very important that she know this.

And then there was the issue of his monkey's name, which he didn't really know because he hadn't really though about it, but, if he did, he would have to say...

"Probably because he's cool," he offered, "and...so are boobs." He wasn't sure if admitting that really worked with the whole game he was trying to pull there, but it seemed worth the risk if she was asking. But his brow furrowed a little after that when he couldn't help but adding, "I have no idea who Annie is, though."

And Annie's Boobs might actually bother to help Troy out with that, but he was laying low and just letting his buddy do his thing up there.

"So not like a girlfriend or anything."

Because naming a monkey after your girlfriend's boobs would be the weird part, right?

"Noooo..." said Troy, a little slowly, as he needed to think about it. Part of it, anyway, because while he knew he didn't have any girlfriends, he would be lying if he said there probably weren't a few girls back at Riverside who might think differently. Though he was pretty sure none of them were named Annie.

(He was wrong about that, of course, but this was well before anyone got hopped up on Adderall and went crashing through a glass window claiming that everyone's a robot).

"Yeah, no," he concluded, more confidently, "since I don't have one."

Annie Edison wished.

"Oh. Well, that's just good information to have," Alexis said, like that would actually make a ton of difference.

Was that a little monkey fist popping up on the side of the couch, and Troy's fist going to lightly knock against it? Oh, yeah. It definitely was.

And then Annie's Boobs was climbing up to perch on the arm of the sofa to make his appearance, 'cause, alright, T-Bone, you had enough time with the hotties, it was time to get some cute capuchin charm up in this conversation.

"S'up?" he said, cocking his chin. "I thought I heard someone talking about me?"

"Hi," Alexis said. "It's nice to meet you, uh... Annie's Boobs."

Preston did not look impressed. He was going to be over here watching his E! and absolutely not paying attention, really.

"You, too!" said Annie's Boobs, who might have tried to be more suave and cavalier about it, but soul buddies didn't crowd in too much on each other's game. But he did take a moment to slick back the hair on the top of his head with his paws before giving Alexis another grin, and he couldn't help it if it just so happened to be irressitably adorable.

"Is your friend some kind of dinosaur?" he then asked, because, nice try, Preston, you were a part of this, too. "Or just a really cool looking bird?"

"I'm a peacock," said Preston, with a tone of 'duh.'

"Heh," said Troy. "Peacock."

The monkey chittering was probably not helping, either.

Boys.

"Ugh," Preston said, rolling his eyes.

"He's exquisite," Alexis said. "But also cool-looking? Like he has layers."

"And feathers!" Troy offered helpfully. Maybe a little proudly. "Like, there's layers of feathers there."

He gave Preston a thumbs up.

"Very nice."

Preston eyed him, then lightly tapped Alexis on the shoulder with his beak so she'd lean over to let him whisper in her ear.

Occasionally he'd poke his head out from behind her shoulder to look over at Troy.

And that was...fine. That was...cool. Just some totally probably not judgey at all secrets being shared between Alexis and her...peacock....

And it would have been super-awkward, if it weren't for the fact that Annie's Boobs came in quickly to nudge Troy to get his attention and leaned over to cup his little capuchun hand and whisper in Troy's ear, too.

He didn't whisper anything in particular, just little psst-psst-psst sounds, but Troy picked up on what he was doing pretty quickly and let out a laugh. "Oh, man, AB," he said, "you are so right...Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Oh, we do have fun, don't we?"

Alexis looked over and frowned a bit. "What are you doing?"

"Oh," Troy shook his head, waved his hand dismissively, "Annie's Boobs was just telling me a story. He does tell a good story. Don't mind us, we don't want to interrupt..."

Annie's Boobs kept psst-psst-ing a little longer.

"No!" gasped Troy, hand to his chest. "The whole time?"

And then mouthed a super-apparant WOW at Alexis before shifting the attention back to the monkey whispers.

Preston scoffed.

While Alexis leaned over just a little to try and listen in.

At that point, Annie's Boobs was just going to finish up with a little titter behind his hand, while Troy gave him a very incredulous look, and a laugh of his own. "You get out of here," he said, giving Annie's Boobs a playful nudge. "You crazy monkey. I bet you made half that up."

His attention rolled over to Alexis and Preston. "He had to have made half that up." Another chuckle, shaking his head and looking fondly at the shameless capuchin. "Crazy monkey."
