Alexis had no idea why she had a peacock. And there'd maybe been a little shrieking at having a bird in her room when she woke up, but it'd been short, because as it turned out Preston was pretty cool, and chill.

Which was why they were hanging out in the common room watching whatever was on E! and snarking.

"Can't she just walk through?" asked Troy. "Oh! Is it because of the handles? You know, because of the hooves? Maybe Annie's Boobs can help!"

Annie's Boobs grinned from Troy's shoulder and opened and closed his hands in a wave at Tahani to show how dextrous and helpful his hands could be.

"That's a monkey," Tahani said, "and not breasts, which should definitely not be talking."

That would be an entirely unasked for level of horror, frankly.

Yeah, no one needed to go there.

"Oh, no, that's his name," Troy explained, because that was much better. "He won't tell me why, except that because both things are awesome."

"I like to keep a certain air of mystery about me," Annie's Boobs offered, pulling himself up importantly and running a hand over the hair on the top of his head to look just a bit more presentable and distinguished.

"Right," Tahani said slowly. "My giraffe goes by Azzaa, which means 'gazelle' because apparently we were very confused when she was named."

"And you said she's having trouble getting through the door?" asked Annie's Boobs. "Maybe we could help her?"

He didn't know how, and neither did Troy, but both of them would have felt bad if they didn't at least offer to help.

"I think I'm just going to have to go out and say hello," Tahani admitted, "but first she wants tea and sandwiches."

"We can help with tea and sandwiches!" Troy offered, eagerly gesturing between himself and the monkey. "Annie's Boobs is even really good at climbing. Which would be helpful with a giraffe, right?"

"Yes," Tahani said. "If she puts her head down for too long, she can pass out." She lowered her voice. "She seems extremely high maintenance."

Gosh, Tahani, we wonder why.
