Alexis had no idea why she had a peacock. And there'd maybe been a little shrieking at having a bird in her room when she woke up, but it'd been short, because as it turned out Preston was pretty cool, and chill.

Which was why they were hanging out in the common room watching whatever was on E! and snarking.

Gemis gave Annie's Boobs a snort and an annoyed look, his eyes glowing red. "You can't just quantify knowledge like that. I know a lot of things."

He yawned, considering (and showing off several rows of very sharp teeth). "I know the history of the dinosaurs on this planet, and a lot about its humans, which is more than any dinosaur," he pointed out.

That didn't sound that smart, there were loads of scientists who knew all that sort of stuff, too, but Troy could allow that it was a pretty vague and open-ended question, so he looked at Gemis and Lana a little skeptically for a moment before asking something more specific.

"Have you ever eaten any humans?"

The teeth were probably definitely the spark of inspiration behind that one, yeah.

Gemis scrunched up his face. "Ew, no. Why would I want to? Well," he admitted, "I might not say no to Harkun if the opportunity came up."

"I might not say no to eating Harkun," Lana muttered. She waved it off. "An instructor at my last school," she explained. "Believe me, he deserves it."

"What did he do?" asked Troy, eyes going wide, but about two second later, he shook his head, lifted his hand. "Wait, nevermind, that's probably going to be one of those questions I'm going to regret asking, isn't it?"

Lana shrugged. "Mostly just tried to belittle and kill us while pitting everyone against each other. He's very good at getting students in touch with their hate.
